How can I tell on an official PvP server when its raid time? It looks like the raid time is from 6-11 pacific on my server (since the server is in the pacific time zone). However, I routinely get raided after those hours. Apparently I am looking at the wrong setting. So back to my original question, how do I tell for sure when raid time is on an official PvP server?
The raid time is based on local server time of 6-11 PM. However that time is probably going to be different than your timezone so here is how you confirm.
The event log is recorded in your local time however the server actions are dedicated in the server’s timezone. With that officials are all designated to restart sequence at 5:00AM. This starts with a 10 minute warning so that the server shuts down at 5:10 AM server time. Compare that to your event log time and you will have the time shift of your server compared to your time zone and can make the adjustments accordingly to the PVP time.
I legit thought every NA server was eastern. As a pacific player as well, it was annoying for purge time. Maybe because I’m on console? Idk… never seen a pacific server.
Back in the day it was 3700’s and 3800’s for PS. I lost track of the numbering system when Siptah came onto the scene and the server culling so I don’t know if that is still the same thing or not
Fml… they should have the region easily seen when searching. I’m too well established at this point. Oh well.
You can sort by ping to get the closest servers as well
Yeah, I suppose… my ping is always a minimum of 100. I wasn’t really aware of all that at the time I started years ago though.
I’m an 80s/90s console gamer growing up so a lot of these concepts of server location and ping threw me off; my husband pointed out initially that we must choose a server with good ping.
Ok, good rule. Then when choosing further servers there was the realization that certain groupings indicate east or west NA.
I’m eastern Canada so NA east is what I need to choose. I can join west which seems to be 90-140 ping for me in the server list. The ping while playing is not terrible in most cases but not smooth.
I was always under the impression that this was standard for all play modes.
The 1500/1600 eastern, 1700/1800/1900 western in PVP Exiled Lands.
I always had good ping results in the server list for 1500 PVE so I assumed they were also eastern servers.
The server list is not particularly honest though; we’ve had issues with the 9999 ping bug for years, sorting, choosing settings and knowing the best server to select is always a roll of the dice.
There’s tricks to find it out as @erjoh outlined but also this from @Barnes kind of helps too. Battlemetrics is no longer reliable though.
I’m in Canada too (Saskatchewan). We don’t change our clocks in spring and fall. But everyone else does. So half the time we are the same as Alberta and the other half we are the same as Manitoba. Yet it’s always the same time here
That would make for some jumping around a little for raid times. But I primarily play on PvE so no real worries.
I agree that the raid time is 6-11pm local time for the server. However, the official servers don’t all reboot at 5am. I wish they did since that would be a neat way to find a server time zone.
One thing I did notice since yesterday, the PvP players that are raiding outside of raid hours are raiding right after we have confirmed that raiding hours are over. We confirmed that raid hours were over since none of us can damage each other’s buildings despite being in two different clans. We can also confirm with guard thralls since guard thralls won’t attack during non-Raid hours on this particular server.
What do you mean by raiding?
On some of the PvP servers there is a raid window. You can only destroy buildings during raid time. Generally people raid (destroy building pieces) to get loot from another player’s base. The importance of me knowing the raid window is so that I can make sure I am online to defend my base during raid hours.
In my case, I am trying to figure out how a player is raiding me one night while I am unable to raid that player at the same time the next night. So the first step for me is to confirm how official servers list raid time in the settings. I doubt it, but I may be reading something incorrectly in the settings.
Oh I know what raiding is lol (About 7k hrs primarily PVP Official).
I was asking what you meant by it. Is it building pieces being destroyed by a player? Or are they using the purge exploit? Are you witnessing them placing bombs, godding, trebbing and is it damaging those buildings?
Ok, I misunderstood then. This player is destroying building pieces according to the logs. If it was a purge, it would show up differently in the logs.
Yes it would be different for purge.
I wonder if it is some kind of exploit.
But, just to rule it out (I know it’s kind of a dumb question), have you confirmed when raid time starts?
6-11 pacific time best I can tell. We are testing right now and confirmed that raid time still starts at 6 pacific. But the raiding is taking place at 1am to 2am pacific time in the morning which we previously confirmed to be outside of raid hours. Nothing appears to have changed in the settings.
On our end we are retesting those hours as we have time. But we are also wondering if we could be reading something wrong in the settings.
But a raid time of 6pm to 2am seems like a pretty lengthy raid time for an official server.
Yes, it’s supposed to be 5 hrs.
Test right at 6pm. To note servers do wax and wane, they’re not always starting exactly on the hour but only by minutes on occasion.
We did test right before and after 6pm. That’s good advice. We are testing whether someone can damage a building piece and whether thralls on guard aggro or not. Looking to see if there is a difference between the two maybe. And confirm raid hours with two metrics instead of one.
You can go to server settings and check when pvp and building destruction is allowed. Unfortunately the hours given are afaik based on the servers local time instead of your own clients, so you need to know where the servers are located.
Theres a serverlist somewhere, but Im not sure I got the link…
edit: found it. Put your servers name in here and it should show the location
Hmm ya there’s something off for sure.
Another dumb question sorry, are you sure this is an Official server? Is it possible it is a private with the title of Official?
