I never saw any of that. I’m not sure what thread I’m supposed to be reading. I just read the patch notes and whatever comes out on Steam news. I should not have to go digging through the forums to understand why my broken game has paid DLC coming out. I’ve been down this road before with other games and I’m not doing it again. They need to fix the major bugs in the game before holding out the hand for more money. I want what I paid for first: a fairly polished and functional game. After I get that, we can talk about buying more content.
Broken journey steps and major mechanics is not a functional game.
Your money, your option. I was just saying that if anyone tried just a little bit, Funcom laid out how all this post release activity was going to work months ago. They have been very upfront and open about things. I understand that not everyone does as much research as I do, and some don’t have the time, but the info is out there if you look.
Prospecting for Deposits: To scan for deposits, use the “ping” mechanic. Enter the ship’s scanning mode (TAB) then hold and release LMB to scan. Any minable deposits will appear highlighted with a UI targeting bracket around them. Note: A ping will also temporarily increase passive radar detection range.
Scanning Deposits: Enter mining mode (M) and aim the mining reticle at the rock you wish to scan/mine. Your ship will automatically begin the scanning process and reveal the contents of the rock.
Fracturing: Use LMB to activate the ship’s mining laser. Keep the “Rock Energy Level” inside the optimal window (green) by adjusting the “Laser Throttle” using the mouse wheel. Once the “Rock Energy Level” is inside the optimal window the “Fracturing Sensor” bar will begin to increase and once at 100% the rock will break apart into smaller chunks. Chunks that can be further shattered/mined will highlight orange when targeted whereas chunks that are now extractable will highlight purple.
When the “Rock Energy Level” bar exceeds the optimal window and goes into the red, the “Overcharge Sensor” bar will begin to increase. If the “Overcharge Sensor” bar goes to 100%, the rock will explode violently damaging the player’s ship and destroying all extractable material.
Extracting Ore: To extract ore from the purple highlighted bits of rock, switch from “Fracture Mode" to “Extraction Mode” using RMB, then using LMB to activate the extraction tractor beam. The “Cargo Capacity” bar will begin to increase as the ore is extracted to the ship’s cargo.
Selling Ore: Ore can be sold at GrimHex, Levski, and Port Olisar at specific kiosks located near the Admin Clerk desks. Interact with these kiosks (F), select the Prospector from the top left ship drop down menu then select “Sell to Refinery”.
SJW’s are a bit interesting as to what sort of effect they have on games… see
I like hot girls. Funcom’s Conan Universe always has been one of the last bastion of sanctioned sex and violence in mainstream gaming. SJW’s don’t like this…
However, SJW’s bring women into gaming in areas where normally guys would dominate. Problem is, it’s always girls I’d rather not fantasize on being.
There’s been some black women representation especially in the zombie genre. (dead island, How to survive 2, left 4 dead) and Assasin’s Creed Liberty. That’s fine, but I find myself feeling guilty for not wanting to buy it cuz it features something I absolutely can’t find a relation with…
If you give people the option to choose what they wanna see on their screen, of course people are gonna feel… unpopular for not being like what people choose to see.
I find myself wanting visual stimulation within a nuanced narrative and love providers who offer such. I am quite happy that “Kassandra” in the new Assassins Creed: Oddysey is finally a true equal to the male counterpart in terms of agency. Not an attached baggage, like Evie with Jacob, or a stand-alone minority representation counter-balance, like in Liberty… But a classic white european woman in her own right. It’s almost as if she’s become the new minority, with the only other strong female lead being the de-sexualized Lara Croft.
I don’t feel any regret for things like that anymore. I might play the black chick once in a while in a game, but she’s not my favorite and never will be. People like people they can identify with. That means they have something in common. It doesn’t have to be appearance, but that’s a factor. The pushing of guilt over things like that is what I resent. It’s a totalitarian attitude, for some to tell me what I should like and not like, while insisting that I accept any degeneracy they push my way. What was “total insanity” a few years ago is now demanding mainstream acceptance. It makes you wonder who is pushing all this.
It is why a game developer is supposed to hire coders who’s head does not spin from using the programming language that is used in the development.
Making excuses for poor product quality only makes poor quality more acceptable, it is a disservice to all gamers and the game industry. It only benefits investors, because it makes a shoddy publisher such as Funcom look better on paper than it really is.
I’m an orthodox reformed Christian, so that should cover most questions about that.
Hey, I just saw this. I’m glad to see it and it eases teh sting a bit by dropping the price to $10. I wish they would push this stuff out to Steam news for those of us who don’t check their site regularly, but that’s a minor gripe.
Edit: Just saw the DLC is coming before the “big fix stuff patch”. That sucks.
I love my Scottish/Irish girl when I play. Love playing my Greek Warriors as well Male or Female. Anyhooo…back to topic.
DLC is fine. I am buying this first one. I have a couple of thralls that could use some Khitan gear. They seem to be a little perturbed to be forced to wear Aquilonian. So I threaten them to go back to ‘The Wheel’ that is right over there ‘as I point’ and they shut it and eat a sandwich.
If the game is not in a solid stable state after this DLC and Mega Patch…no more biting the hand that feeds allowed. Lost this customer for DLCs.
If the patch fixes most of my gripes, I’ll buy the dlc just to support future development. Might even pick up a second copy in the steam sale for my son.
SC is not even in beta, it is still in development, this is why there is not everything playable. It has been stated like this since the beginning. A triple A game normally is about 10 years development, and the project start in 2012. Chris has not said that you could play in 2017,2018 even in 2019. Project are not supposed to be public, this is why when a game come out, people are just wohh, but SC make the bet to be financed by the community, this is the reason it was public.
One step at a time, or you will get like all video game atm, just unfinished games.
