The questing. The freedom. But I love more. Let’s get back to the questing and the freedom. I can make my own adventure and go by completing it my way. No question asked. That’s awesome. I like harvesting and building my base. It’s amazing! Collecting awesome items is generally good. Like swords and bows. It would be nice if it was a whole planet Conan. Basically it’s the survival mechanics that keeps me up and running. Full of role playing nice. I like the thrall mechanism.
I think Conan Exiles is one of the best games ever made because of the lore, concept, and gameplay. The combat is awesome but the sorcery is by far one of the things I have enjoyed the most because it’s not like the sorcery in any of the other games that have sorcery. The sorcery is not over the top and it’s canon/lore accurate. The game provides the best experience of Hyboria other than Robert E. Howard’s stories.
@Mosow I wholeheartedly agree! Though I have not agreed with some of the recent decisions made by Funcom, I still love Conan Exiles. I have had some ~7 years of fun and fantastic memories from this game. Furthermore, I have more hours in this game game than any other in my library. And if the time comes when I do someday decide to move on to other proverbial pastures, I have more than gotten my money worth from this game, and I do not regret my time spent on it.
I like the sandbox where I can quest when I want to, where I want to, and not feel like I have to.
I love base building, recruiting NPCs to work in my base and have followers if I want – I really like building my own empire (or, at least a fully decked out castle). I love the freedom to build just about anywhere (even in a tree or the side of a cliff or even a base hanging from a ledge like a beehive).
I love that I can play single player or multi-player. I love the freedom to mod single player and the competition of multi-player.
I love the multiple armors so everyone doesn’t look the same.
I love being able to climb rock walls and slide down cliffs.
For me its the open world and the follower system. With no new maps it’s hard to stick around. Also, the follower quests like Freya and Liu Fei are interesting but too little and the time gating is horrible.
Waiting for Dune just because i want to play a new map made by Funcom. I hope it has the same quality or better.
My friend says i play blocks and dolls and he is correct too .
But my reason stands in the general freedom this game has, from the nudity part, mobility (climbing, swimming, diving, etc…) and simple combo battle mechanics with outstanding efficiency.
The female characters of this game move in outstanding athletic grace and they are far more desirable for me than the male (body building apes). There for i play as Bella 6+ years now.
Like most of my fellow exiles i have become whiner and accept my apologies for it.
This game has become a great mark on my 40 year gaming experience.
Well done Funcom!
This one is fond of the setting and source material.
Sword and Sorcery is a genre near and dear to the heart.
The ability to run, jump, climb, and swim is not seen as often together in survival games as this one would like. These mobility options all at once are very appreciated.
Various factions with distinct aesthetics, voices/dialogue, and camp styles is fun, as is the plethora and diversity of biomes.
The build system is pretty good. As is customization.
While not perfect, this one very much enjoys playing with blocks and dolls, and altho some parts of it have become significantly more burdensome of late, the core chassis is good.
That the whole game is basically optional.
Main quest? If you want to, but no pressure.
Dungeons? They are there and good for loot and plot advancement.
Sla-, er, Thralls? Definitely useful, but unnecessary. Also, the greater variety of ways to obtain them is much appreciated.
While this one takes severe umbrage at many specifics, the core framework of the game is exceptionally good. The central premises magnificent.
Something that has yet to get old for me is trampling cobras with my horse. Because they’re such annoying little @#$&'s to kill normally. Though gas orbs/arrows work well.
I have to mention mods also. Not just for new content but for enabling hilarious stuff like I ran across on a private server recently. A great big bear of a female cimm berserker in a barely there bearskin loincloth and a vanir settler tunic three sizes too small, that she likely ripped from some petite Nord woman after beating her senseless, with a face only a mother could tolerate. Olga Mirrorbane indeed.
nudity, violence, horse riding and building. Would like to have a bigger world too and a link with sipath, and wedge fondations and ceiling on lost dungeon and newer sets,
