I agree that arbitrary wiping defeats some of the idea of the living server so to speak. I would rather have 2 “basic” changes,
all items decay over time. The freezers are for consumables only and do what they did first release, multiply the timer by 10 (so 1 hour becomes 10 hours decay). All thralls have a timer like the pets until placed in the world. For crafters if in station timer is frozen. Anything in chests/vaults gets a 20 x timer (no consumables though). This way body vaulting isyour worst storage solution, As for decay time, that could be slider adjustable (0 or no decay) for privates and tweaked to make a full stack stored of anything decay at same time as abandonment for buildings (2 weeks currently). So 1000 stone stack would decay at about 1 per 20 minutes on your body, or if stored 1 every 5.66 hours.
Cost for assets. Figure a way to count walls and foundations only, then use a station located in your base to fill every 24 hours. The cost would be tied directly to how big you want to build. Again a slider for 0, and set to make it cost to have 100,000 walls and foundations all over the place.

Disagree, I watched it from beginning to end the first time it was posted and it is NOT totally correct. It has some good points but overall is a hate fest of personal attacks against FC itself. I agree with @Multigun and just roll my eyes now when I see it posted again and again.
I’ve noticed a disposition change in the forum lately now that many of you guys have switched over. And its made the forums a way better place for it. People are way less adversarial when they’re not frustrated.
If I could remember the server many switched to, I’d post their details here. But I’m sure someone else might have that information.
Good point. Maybe why preserve boxes were changed. But I. theory if that was an issue, then 1 could crash servers by farming s… ton of meats and placing in chests to create an issue on purpose.

I don’t think it would work tbh. The fish traps were an issue because of having to produce and decay. That combo was probably a calculation nightmare. Decay by itself would not be. Which 8n turn means load on system is not a reason to not do long decay on everything.
I would be happy if just pvp typ stuff had decay. Any “weapon” that has demon blood in the crafting tree. Start there.
And make 2 new containers…
Sylos-- for plants, stone, iron ore, wood, brimstone, and ichor. Only allow those in them. And make them non lockable and about 2x2x4 each. Capacity of vault.
Cell–Only thralls. a 3x3x3 box that hold 20 thralls each.
Large chests and vaults should not store those i listed above. They should be for anything else. Preserve boxes for only consumables. It would make sense thematically and still allow for mass storage but with design creativity involved. As well to prevent body vaulting, any item on your body when it “dissapears” from server should be lost. Only hot wheel and armor you are wearing should stay.
And my final new years wish.
Make doors destructible 24/7 on pvp (raid) servers (using the DBD method)
But to dissuade non door builds change hp on everything.

Then have doors do a bump of 10x to anything in a certain radius. this way having doors would make bases stringer than current. Keep all other parts onlybdestructible during 6 hour window. Now people can truly raid and still wipe offline, but at riskier or higher costs.
