To answer your question. Theyâre on non-official. Even the most stubborn die-hard anti-private server peeps are beginning to make the switch. What theyâve done is made their own official-likes. Having the same settings and no mods.
The difference is the servers can hold more people, have better performance, and much better administration and moderation. Basically theyâve having their cake and eating it too.
My recommendation is to jump ship to one of those servers. Eventually the numbers will be low enough on official that theyâll likely turn them off. Youâll lose your character and stuff when that happens. Moving to a private server hosted outside Funcom means the same thing, but youâll have to do it anyway. Best to get a headstart now and not get left behind.
Officials are a sinking ship. Your video proves this. To use their highway analogy, the freeways will be shut down, and only the state roads will be available. The good news is new players wonât see the crappy freeways as their first experience. Though it will be 50/50 if they see a good experience on a private server or not. But 50% is better than 0%.
There is a story here in Greece about a father, a son and their donkey. At the end of this story the meaning is that everybody is right, because everybody sees things his own way. My way of seeing things is simple, I like the game a lot and I play it no matter what. But yet again this is how I see it, isnât it?
You should save this text and copy paste it to any thread like this
As a long time player of conan i have to agree with you, its feels like they are milking this cow for what its worth, now with covid lockdowns in the states, lowering the price of the game 60% is gonna bring more bad players to the pvp community, nothing but hacking/glitching/undermeshing/broken armours what not.
freedom of speech is sometimes not allowed on this forum, its easy to flag a post when the thruth is being seen from a third party.
a hacker hacks someone, then report them, nothing gets done, you get a reply sorry we need more evidence, so what i need to have a life feed video?its ridicolous
wiping officials every 6 months would be best idea, they made farming gods after last update easier, farming is decreased in amounts, making armour cost 3 times more then beforeâŠ
anyway good toppic, i wish they would make conan better its really a fun game to playâŠjust support is verry poorly
anyway thnx for listening
This may end up true. My hope is there is some way to see rankings so players can find the right server for them, as well as have private owners a goal to achieve so they can get traffic on their servers.
Something that lists the raid settings, pvp settings, harvest settings and xp gain. Fo PC maybe some sort of column that states, light, medium, or heavy mod (or none). That sort of thing. Then a place to put a 1- 5 star rating. May not be perfect, but again, even if 80% accurate it is better than blind searching.
Haha true. I wrote âFUNdamentally inCOMpetentâ and got a periodic ban from the forums here.
Doesnât prevent me from telling the truth though. Forum accounts are easy to create.
Yes they are on private servers but we are not talking big numbers, playerbase is going down.
Maybe on PC⊠On PS4 pretty much every server is dead.
Even private? That may be caused that thereâs no mods as well.
Oh goody, this video again. Iâm sure this entire thread will be super productive like the last time. Sure glad there is somebody who is willing to post this same video every week.
And in case itâs not clear, this post is dripping with sarcasm.
Yeah my team was playing on official 3 server in 3 months always ended wiped by cheaters so we go to this one Siptah private PvP official settings
It could be much worse. The Funcom bashing isnât terribly bad this time around. Or maybe Iâm just being a bit more optimistic than normal. But overall everyoneâs staying a bit civil. Weâll see how long that lasts.
Maybe Iâll put my bet on at least till the clock ticks over to 2021 EST.
We disagree.
So there is a time and place to wipe. Unfortunately most people donât understand why or when there should be a wipe.
If youâre wiping in order to make the map freely accessible, to give people a fresh start, and to curb years and years of storage. That is a stupid stupid reason to wipe. Dedicated players especially ones working in a group, can easily rebuild their bases, and storage within days after a wipe. I know, Iâve seen people do this. Iâve done this.
But this is the most common reason people call for wipes. Its ridiculous. They have no idea what they are talking about. And the issue they are looking to fix will manifest within 3 days of the wipe. Wiping every 6 months for 3 days of reprieve is stupid and self-centered.
If youâre wiping to curb database corruption, to improve server performance, and to generally get rid of the glitches in the save file. That is absolutely the correct reason to wipe.
Unfortunately people donât understand when that second reason has been made manifest. I have no doubt many official servers have to this by now. Theyâve been up for nearly 1000 days and thereâs bound to be some issues on some of them. But that doesnât mean they all need it. The owners of said database need to make that determination by simply looking at the metrics on their own side of things.
This isnât something a player logging in can diagnose on their own. They can kinda give a heads up of a POTENTIAL issue, but they canât definitively say when a wipe is needed. Though many think they are experts on this when they have never ran a server of their own for a extended amount of time.
*The caveat is this response to servers wiping is for Officials ONLY. Of course there will be many reasons for a private server to wipe, up to and including the owner just feels like it. I am not judging that. So keep your keyboard-warrioring at bay if youâre in that group.
Wiping servers can be done by us âŠ
17h50 ⊠time to get ready for raid time!
Why not people just litre the server with land claim and will refresh even if they havenât played for months
Agree 100% @Taemien
Makes sense that there should be a core collection of multi-platform official servers out there for starter-players to try the game out on, and then be able to check out and move to any of a large stable of private servers. It gives a more accurate representation, and allows a huge range of gameplay. Most players I have spotted making the âchangeâ have started that way before progressing to private.
