Windows 7 - crashes on startup after Update 41 (16.06.2020) - Feedback thread

On Windows 7; crashing when starting the game (once it goes into full screen window mode):

Interestingly enough, if I ignore this message (drag it to another monitor) then the game starts up fine behind it and I could get onto my server (through direct connect, due to server list being empty). Though the game shut down after a minute or so (the message however still remained). That crash could be related, or could be a separate issue.

So… how long does it usually take them to release a hotfix after an unplayable update?

On Windows 10 I get this:

Symptom: Server keeps crashing repeatedly while it’s still starting. w/wo mods makes no difference.

Verified installation several times and ran the steamcmd updater (I let DedicatedServerLauncher1047.exe handle that).

@ALL - You don’t need to upload screenshots of you error message dialog boxes. Just press ctrl+c to copy its content as text into the clipboard and paste it here. Just like I did above.
One advantage of that is searchability. You can’t find the error code inside an image with google or the forums integrated search function.

it is on windows 10 aswel sindse the update when i try to connect to our server it loads i get the welcome server text and then it crashed… can’t even play single player

Same issue. Seems to me the issue exists on the game side of things, no fault on the user’s side.

But I tried uninstalling and doing a fresh install with no mods, with firewall and anti-virus turned off, same error.

I am also on Steam, Win 7 with 2TB free.

Folks, please read the title. This thread is to collect the information necessary to quicken the process of providing a fix to the Windows 7 issue.

Kudos to all who have done that, thank you; the more specific data, the quicker the fix.

The instruction at 0x40165066 referenced memory at 0x00000169. The memory could not be written.
Allowing the error message to hover and entering a single player game took me to the character creation screen.
I tried changing to windowed mode but still got the error on rebooting.

After increasing my virtual memory to 24/50 gigs I got this error:
The instruction at 0x3f9b5066 referenced memory at 0x00000019. The memory could not be written.
I tried re-entering my single player world while ignoring the error message, it accessed my old world normally before it crashed after 2 minutes.

after disabling the intro movies:
The instruction at 0x401c6415 referenced memory at 0x00000006. The memory could not be written.

By highlighting the error window, you can copy the text contents using CONTROL-C, even though it gives you an error sound effect.
This is a real shame, Conan Exiles PVE is incredibly grindy, and being unable to log in to refresh can destroy years of player effort.

This new 2.1gb hotfix that released about 30 minutes ago has not fixed any of the ‘crash at startup’ issues.

Attempting to launch the game with BattleEye still causes the memory read error that forces the game to close (the videos still work and it loads the main menu, but attempting to click anything closes the client). Launching without BattleEye causes the UE4.exe to crash and automatically close, playing no intro videos at all. Have attempted reinstalling BattleEye to see if that fixed anything, it didn’t. Currently testing validating the game files through Steam to see if that makes a difference, but don’t have my hopes up.

Have tried both with and without mods. No matter what, the game simply will not run. This hotfix hasn’t fixed the problem.
