PC Update (16.06.2020) - Update 41: Followers re-balancing, Avatar fixes and more!

Greetings Exiles!

Today we’re releasing our new update, focused on re-balancing a few aspects of the game. We’ve focused on followers and world bosses, making thralls slightly less of a powerhouse, but also toning down bosses’ health pools accordingly. The goal of these changes is to increase player power compared to Followers. We’ll continue to look at ways to re-balance the game, and we can’t wait to show you what’s coming in the near future.

With this update we have also fixed many of the issues that affected the avatar system in the game, fixing some exploits that abused them as well as re-balancing some of its core mechanics. They are still not enabled in official servers, but we will let you know in advance once we flip the switch during the upcoming weeks.

Additional to these changes we have also implemented the Funcom Live Services into the game that aims to create a smoother user experience while playing online, as well as removed Denuvo from the game. And together with all these changes, we have also bundled fixes for crashes, server optimizations, some exploit fixes, fixes to Argossean pieces, gave the Abyssal Remnant a wake up call and much more!

Thank you all for your ongoing support and feedback. Stay safe!

Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We suggest taking a backup of your current database before updating to any new patch if you have mods installed.

Separate TestLive Product on Steam

We heard your input regarding the inconvenience with having to switch back and forth between the main game and our TestLive servers. To make it easier for you and because we really value your testing and feedback, we added a separate product for the TestLive server on Steam.

If you own Conan Exiles on Steam, you should now see a separate Product called “Conan Exiles - Testlive Client” in your library which gives you the option to install an additional instance of the game specifically for the TestLive servers. Please be aware that this will prompt you for a full additional installation.

We are aware that not everyone wants install or has space for two full installations. For those of you who don’t want to play through the additional TestLive Client, you can still access the TestLive servers through our old method.

Important notice

We are still waiting confirmation from QA about a couple of issues. We’ll update the patchnotes and thread if they return positive results.

Also, please note. Today’s release is PC only. Console parity patches will be released later this week.

Please give it some time for servers to come back up after updating.

So my dedicated Server is online but i can´t find him. And direct connect don´t work.

The new patch seems to have destroyed my game. I get an error message by trying to start the game.

There a lots of reasons to nerf the thralls. They two shot most boss creatures.

I guess we have to wait for another patch now to get into the game

Do you have issues getting into a server, or launching the game?

Go PvE if you don’t want to get raided. PvP requires commitment to be online during raid hours.

None server showing up on a list :-/

All servers still offline. Perhaps we could get a time-frame on when the servers are expected to be up and running?

game no more working, memory read fail instruction, i am not the only one in this case, game not launching…

instruction 0x3ff25053 using memory adress 0xffffffff. memory cannot be read, game close…

yes will make any defense totally impossible, just build 200 vault, like all alpha do on pvp server…problem to adress quickly…

I dont think they should be so much more powerful but should be reasonably powerful.

thing is killing fully leveled thralls right now is trivial with the right gear acid arrows for example which will break all their weapons and armour then just gas them, the creation of Acid arrows was a mistake imo.

the power level for base defense was seemingly correct given the ammount of disadvantages the thralls have with their AI reaction and acid arrow weakness etc, open world pvp however is a different matter, I do resent getting one shotted by a thrall before the animation even registers while fighting a player who is worse than me, this is not a great experience, Nor was just sitting back and letting the thrall do all the work.

however if the world bosses health was just decreased to the thralls attack damage, the only thing this effects is pvp and base defense, given PVE should remain at the exact same capability against the bosses with the proportional health and attack reduction while this may give a player the sense of “Im helping” ultimately it would on paper be about the same as before .

They will probably take a random number of hours trying to find the issue, then to solve it another random number of hours. It’s impossible to put an ETA on such issues.
Probably, if the servers won’t be up in 12 hours or so, the patch will be rolled back.
There’s your answer.

Best regards.
