living settlement is on…

dreaded 0:"0:0 ???

you playing enhanced ?

i also got a shock, last thing i wanted

please turn it off on officials

i am

Living settlement was turned off because it was broken, but it should be fixed in the new game version
Asking for them to turn off certain features on official servers just wouldn’t be fair to those wanting it.
Don’t want it?
Play singleplayer or on a private server that has it turned off

It’s still broken. Thralls do not adhere to locked doors. They walk outside, find the nearest fight and die. That’s why it was turned off before and it should not have been turned on again until the door issue was resolved.

Please, please turn living settlements off. It was never fixed and causes a lot of issues with thralls going through doors that are supposed to be closed and clipping through solids walls and floors to become permanently lost. PLEASE TURN IT OFF ON OFFICIAL SERVERS

7 mins on loading screen sitting at 100%… this cant be right… what have you done funcom…

Funcom said so themselves.

there is words about living settlements, read the announcements from Funcom and you will see it.
I cannot say if it works properly or not, the little I tested it seemed to work as expected… No missing thralls and they also seemed to respect thrall locked doors.

Asking people to STFU just because you don’t agree is kinda immature, perhaps learn some manners and take your anger somewhere else if you can’t control it

Now this is a whole different problem I can get behind, I’ve seen it myself, but doubt it has anything to do with living settlements, but rather the new server structure(Gportal problem)

Not saying that you’re wrong, I didn’t see them walking out of thrall locked doors, but then again I only tested it for a short time, so it may be a problem that I just didn’t play long enough to experience

from the enhanced patch notes :

  1. Fixed an issue that could cause Thrall NPCs to teleport out of guarding and profession locations.
  2. Fixed an issue where Thralls could ignore door lock settings.
  3. Fixed an issue that made it hard to interact with Thralls while they were sleeping.

I’m sure @Frillen have read this and it’s why he said what he said , there’s no reason for you to speak to him like you did , sometimes it’s better to go read the patch notes instead of flamming against another player !

maybe all the fixes didn’t work since @DJSHADOWMIND says the locked door doesn’t work , but how could we know without testing and if some things still are broken then I’m sure it will be their priority to fix it.

You want it ?, go play it in single player it is broken, ir is still broken , people already reporting casualties with their workers,

I rather would like a switch so people can turn it off …

This piece of crap just add unnesesary stress to a server that is stressed

Loading tines are extremely high. Ovwr 10 minutes … Unbelievable

Several peeps on the server I was able to log into for a brief period of time, have already lost a thrall to exterior camps. My cook walked through a door I just opened, and headed straight to the camp next to my base. Her combat is turned to passive, so she just sat there getting beat.

It’s broken still. Patch notes or not.

Ya’ll are very lucky to have it turned on. Us console players do not get to enjoy living settlements. And to make it even worse, we have to endure fatalities on every kill.

You don’t “enjoy” living settlements, you suffer through it. Be glad you don’t have to put up with it, it’s the most pointless update to this game

I disagree.. I play official pvp and living settlements was a hoot when it was active. I truly miss it.

I will never miss difficult to find crafter thralls disappearing out of closed buildings when I’m offline and dying to some random NPC far away from my base when I specifically told them to be at their station, which literally happens every time living settlements is enabled. I had to put all of them in cages after the update just to prevent them from wandering off get killed or clip through the world and die. “Living” settlements lol what a joke

It’s not about what I want or not, if it is broken then it needs fixing, the solution is not to remove every single game feature that is bugged unless it is game breaking!

There is a switch for it among some other features in server settings, but official servers should always reflect all main game features, I don’t think an individual toggle for this would be possible on a server.

It probably add to server stress like many other features + all the player stuff from old Exiled Lands servers being transfered to the new game version, are such things also unecessary if they cause problems?

My experience from 20-30 mins of playing was that every single thrall that I had placed at a crafting station, in a thrall slot on a chair/bench or whatever never moved from there, and I checked it on my 3 bases in noob river, Sepermeru and Vulcano, they all stayed where I placed them.

The only ones that wandered around was those that wasn’t assigned to a thrall slot, but at no point did they walk through the doors that I had thrall locked, heck even my pets stayed in place where they were placed on guard, but then again they probably aren’t supposed to use my bed or chairs.

Like I said I only played for like 20-30 mins before they took our server down for restart and it hasn’t been available because of too high ping, which tells me that there is a general server problem which likely isn’t related to Living Settlements!

People can like or dislike game features on official servers, but it is not our call, if so I would loved if they had wiped all Exiled Lands servers along with Siptah servers offering players an option to transfer their characters with progression to new servers, that would likely remoive a ton of server problems, at least for some time until they also are covered in unecessary amounts of buildings and placeables!

Well, there’s your problem. Thralls can wander through doors you open. That’s not the same as them opening doors of their own accord. The problem that was reported as fixed was that thralls were able to open doors that had been set to be locked to thralls. It didn’t say they won’t walk through doors that players open. You have to be really careful opening doors if followers are around, and close them immediately behind you. It won’t solve all the problems, but it should stop the worst examples of what you describe.

To be clear - I absolutely hate Living Settlements. I think it was a bad idea, badly executed. I don’t think it should be fixed, I think it should be entirely removed. (What players were requesting to bring more life to bases was to be able to set patrol routes etc for fighters - no one was asking for crafters to be turned into follower thralls and given the ability to wander aimlessly around, no one even considered that idea.) However, we are stuck with it, at least until enough complaints convince Inflexion to consider getting rid of it entirely, so I’m just suggesting that it’s worth being careful and always shutting doors behind you immediately.

I watched my thralls teleport onto benches outside. All of the bugs that existed 2 years ago are still there. I had a witchdoctor die to a ghost in mounds already. Honestly, this is a game breaking bug that should never have been implemented in the first place.
