Xevyr's guide to Thralls

Two reasons…
First, my English are “street education”, i didn’t finish a school for them, i am “self educated” (in English) , so i have to double check everything.
Healthy conversation. We keep feeding aggressive topics and ignore pacific ones. It’s a wrong attitude if you ask me.

Now. Suggestions please, not just @Xevyr, but anyone else who wishes.
What’s tge best weapon for these thralls and why.
Let’s chat guys, lovely topic.

The Bal Pteor Razor is always a good weapon for high agility weapon dmg thralls, but you know this already, @stelagel

I do find it rather disappointing @stelagel that there is no vitality/agility food for thralls when there are 2 that do strength/vitality. It’s the only double combo that doesn’t exist. I’ve also noticed with this most recent patch that feeding cooked fish doesn’t show the 14% growth chance increase but gruel or steak show as expected (am hoping it’s just a visual bug, but I also need to test in vanilla sp to confirm).

And yes, I know strength is objectively better in terms of thrall meta but sometimes I don’t want to meta it.

Then don’t!!! It’s really that simple
Play however you like. All weapons can “get the job done”, don’t have to always max out everything. If you find that you’re losing thralls because the combination you use isn’t enough for your playstyle, then you can always change things up to make them more optimal until they do work out. It’s that simple.

I don’t always use the best setups either :man_shrugging: sometimes it’s more fun that way, but it’s still a good thing knowing about all these tiny details in case I need them at some point

Oh yeah, for sure. I meant in terms of the food. I just wanna give them agility/vitality food sometimes and I can’t. So I pick between steak or fish.

Optimal weapon: for the first two - the impulse mace, for the remaining two - the sword of Baal-Pteor.
True, I don’t understand what kind of armor they are wearing and what bonus they give. It might make sense to equip them with armor with a large buff to strength or agility.

Have you ever tried war party with an agility thrall with daggers and the other with 2h sword? It’s funny to see. The dude with the daggers will stunlock the enemies and the one with the 2h will finish them. In mid level areas it works. Higher level, better give them a mace just in case.

It’s dragon bone with gurnaki illusion!
There’s nothing else than dragonbone armor in my normal sessions.
My thralls are wearing heavy and i wear light.
I know it’s not the best fir them but it’s decent. And let’s be honest, if your poor thralls end up in a buggy, laggy, crashy situation nothing will save them in the end.
So i role play this way.
Plus i don’t use plating on thralls armor and there’s only one armorer for me @Fia.
Risk? I don’t care, i don’t change the way i play solo.
Fia is my top armorer, always been, always will!
(in Siptah it’s Lhior, i cannot find Fia ).

Exactly :metal:. Bottom line, agility is good for players, but not equally good for thralls. In harsh times thralls will eat literally everything available, i even share my pork feast, or give them raw meat , but it would be nice to have an agility mace for example, or food based on agility and vitality.
I believe that agility thralls need something “more”, to be more trustworthy in combats, not just archers and cauldron users. Assassin’s do not hide behind cauldrons .

Oh i enjoy these conversations brother, plus you never know, sometimes knowledge comes unexpected :man_shrugging:.

Thank you for your replies brothers :metal:.

Dragon armor gives a lot of bang for the buck. Cheap, easily replaceable, always a good choice.

The chest is even on the list above for that nice 8% bonus with the T4 armorer :stuck_out_tongue: and it also has more armor than most

If I am not mistaken, it’s the best heavy armor chest for strenght builds on the EL.

Very thorough guide, thank you.

May I suggest creating a pdf version of this guide for people to download and keep a file. Forum posts don’t last forever.

The fact is that increase in NPC defence over 1200 - 1300 points has practically no effect. Therefore, for thralls I usually limit myself to regular epic armor for strength and agility. A 25% or 40% increase in the required quality is, as a rule, more important than an extra hundred points in armor.

It’s on creative corner! As long as @Xevyr won’t press the solution, this post will never close.
Other than that, the fate of content creators for this game is always short. The follower system will change and this guide won’t be useful anymore.
Just wish that @Xevyr or someone else like him will be here to help us again.

We can let the topic die on a pessimistic, albeit very true, note.
I’m sure @Xevyr will keep the guide updated.

Well, for now it’s just a couple of days old, so it’s still up to date :joy:

Based on @stelagel 's idea above, I did shoot a message to @AndyB to see if they care to pin it in the creative section or idk… post it on their twitter or something to make people aware it exists and so it doesn’t get pushed down as new posts appear on the forum, but he hasn’t replied yet :man_shrugging:

It is pinned in the conan exiles discord at least, so there’s that :stuck_out_tongue:

If anyone asks me something about thralls, this guide is my answer. The rest is experience, personal preferences, individual gaming environment, etc.
This guide tells you everything you can know about thralls. It’s broken down beautifully.
If you could make it available in a pdf format, it would be awesome, @Xevyr , but it’s great as is.

Question for you (or anyone)… I read there are 8% bonuses for some tribes, 5% for others, 4% for some elites. Are these percentages included in the Ranged and Melee dmg modifiers? or are they in addition to them. For example are they already included in the Ranged and Melee in this list? Conan Thrall Stats - Updated A2C3 - Google Sheets

If they are not already included, is there a list of which thralls get which bonuses?

Should probably go over the guide in the first post of this thread. It explains everything related to stats and bonuses, even shows the calculation formulas for damage.

I read it first, I don’t see anything that mentions the Tribe specific 8%/6%/4% bonuses. maybe you could help point me in the right direction?
