I am gather mats so I take my Gorilla for storage and to level it up (he is lvl 18 now) in the open world environment. When I opened his inventory, there seems to be a “weapon?” in a bag…
xx_Gorilla_Jab_2_Pet_xx
xx_Vulture_FlyAway_1_xx
Health Damage: 14
Armor Penetration: 6%
Weight: 0.00
Could someone let me know what to do with this bag…
Is it a perk? Is it a weapon? Did this not get applied because my gorilla’s inventory was full?
I play on the PS4 platform. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
I believe this is related to the old bug where followers would generate “unarmed attack weapons” in their inventory. You know, when a human thrall has no weapons, they attack with their fists, and sometimes they would generate a “fist weapon” in their inventory. (From a programming perspective, the NPC would require a weapon to attack, it’s just “built-in” so to speak so we don’t normally see it.) Luckily, removing that did not amputate their hands.
This sounds like a very similar case. It makes sense that animals who don’t normally use weapons would have their default “unarmed attack weapon” built-in using the same logic as human followers.
I’ve seen this and other bags in the inventory of an admin spawned pet and/or thrall.
Removing them has no effect on the NPC ability.
I vaguely recall a method to animate rigs using this technique where the scripts called on these animation functions that were specific to an NPC skill set. (makes them seem unique from one species to another).
Instead of the actual script (a certain specific format) that can be seen via note-pad or xml document reader, it’s cleverly hidden with an icon instead.
Those bags are their “weapons”.
Szeth the drunk also has his own set and not while ago you could use them. I don’t know it still works, but the drunk charge and the stomp are funny ones, you should check 'em.
