I don’t know how others adress Funcom but I’ve never had issues getting clans banned for meshing, even before zendesk.
Lately I sent a ticket to zendesk about meshers, they started investigating immediately after I provided the location of the meshed base. It took them only 10 days to investigate AND take actions. That meshing clan is gone now and their base is decaying.
Sadly, while Funcom was investigating, I had to fight a new clan on the server that is also meshing and heavily using exploits. And in “fighting” I mean try to get some proofs about their exploits and cheats.
I’m very thankful for Funcom’s great work in dealing with my tickets. But I can’t spend all my gaming time reporting and fighting cheaters.
Because I found another satisfying game to play (it’s not that ugly if you tweak the graphic settings), I give up on Conan Exiles but I hope to return when they implement a working anti mesh feature and fix all these game breaking exploits.
The current anti mesh feature actually PROTECT meshers… I’m not going into more details but I hope the devs already know about their mistake and how meshers actually exploit the anti mesh system.
They also need a screenshot of your map with the location of the meshed base to start their investigation, videos/screenshot proofs aren’t enough.
Even if the location is obvious to us players, apparently the investigating team can’t recognize locations from videos and screenies.
I don’t know if you received a mail asking for a map location, maybe they don’t always take the time to ask for it. But they only start their investigation once they get it.
It’s actually the third time I follow their procedure and successfully get a clan banned for cheating. But it’s the first time with zendesk and it was much more faster than before.
It’s the same with foundation spam. I’ve made lots of reports and all got solved, even though some of them took months. I’m tired of making tickets and there’s always someone claim spam or block spawns/resources. In the long run it would be better to re-design some of the game systems instead of having too many rules in place.
Most people don’t read the terms of conduct and play the game however they feel naturally, leading to creating a bad experience for others. Can we really say players are to blame when the building system offers so much freedom?
It is important not to forget one nuance. No game maintenance company is interested in complete cleanliness on their servers. Because it requires extra time and money. It is only important that the media does not disperse too terrible information and does not scare off buyers. Everything else as far as possible.
What if they allowed us to exploit and cheat untill they’re able to fix the game ? Wouldn’t that be fair ? We could mesh and exploit like everyone else, so everyone would be on the same level again ?
Yes, “everyone” is an exageration. Or maybe it’s not…
When we fought the new clan, they were using underwater walking exploit and some of my allies had to resort to that exploit as well to fight them back underwater. I didn’t want to follow because I know most of them stream and record those fights. I didn’t want to risk a ban even tho they swore to me I don’t risk a ban for that exploit.
So I wasn’t fighting and that was frustrating. Most players don’t care about getting banned or think that will never happen, they cheat and have fun while non cheaters spend their time stalking them to record their exploits. Not fun.
Yes funcom ban cheaters. And they do it faster now with zendesk. But reporting and banning isn’t a solution, not even a temporary solution. While we’re working on getting that clan banned, 2 others clans of cheaters join the server. And more often than never, the “new” clans are just alt accounts from previously banned clans.
And I, for example, was banned for nothing. I during the attack on us Chinese cheaters who lived undermesh used a bug with all 50 stats and others, joined the allied clan. Then he went out and played with his own as before. But I was given a penalty for the fact that that clan had violations of the construction of partial resources. Like I’m a member of the clan, I knew about it and didn’t tell you. I was trying to find out what exactly was my fault? For joining the clan at the wrong time? Funny and stupid. It seems to me that the most important thing is communication with the players, not mechanical actions. After all, there aren’t many of us.
In engineering, meshing refers to using computer software to generate polygons or polyhedrals that connect in a series of lines and points to approximates a digital model’s geometry. Meshing is often performed in order to divide the model into cells in order to conduct a simulation analysis or render a digital model.
It would be unfair not to say that this time the support responded about Undermesh made a decision and then implemented it on the server. For which I thank them very much. Yes, this does not solve the problem in the wars between cheaters and honest people and much more. But personally, I’m satisfied with that.
