That is an opinion, some would say it’s the reverse.
This is a training technique, not a credo or the obligation of a corporation.
I apologize if you thought I was baiting you.
I was merely trying to point out that there could be a logical explanation for the lack of a "good’ announcement.
As for tiresome, we agree on that.
So I’ll close with just this statement you need not respond.
No corporation including FunCom is under any obligation to sugar coat anything.
We are not children we don’t need our medicine coated in candy.
What argument? He basically said “You gave me a stick. Now I want a carrot.” and apparently the only response he’s willing to accept is “Yes, I want a carrot too.”
The most likely explanation of a lack of a carrot right now is that they don’t want the negativity from the announcement of the “trim” to overwhelm the positivity of whatever it is they’re going to announce next.
But I’m sure the above argument will get dismissed as “mute and therefore irrelevant” so I won’t bother attempting to make it.
You correct in this. No obligation at all and that is a two way street. And again you are correct we are not children so the we are taking stuff from the game, but it is for a good reason, a reason so good that it can’t be talked about.
This couldn’t be more simple really. Bad news is good and good news is secret I guess. Now go ahead make another statement about being children and no information is good information.
Also remember with loss the there is no guarantee of anything useful being added either. Right now we only have the loss and a vague good is coming to think on. I understand corporate speak and this reeks of it.
I have been around since the beginning so I understand waiting , but don’t for a second think that silence is agreement and speaking is childish. Money talks and many have taken their money elsewhere and I don’t see this changing unless there is a great many improvements added to the game.
I love this game and want to see it succeed or I would not still be here. I do not think that silence is going to improve anything as the past proves this too be true.
I never said “no information is good information”
I said maybe there is a reason for not presenting good information at this time.
Me too. Jan 2017 PC early access digital download the day the game released.
I think you and I are not seeing each others point.
You said “they told us bad, now they must tell us good.”
I replied “maybe there is a reason they didn’t give us good yet”
And I also said “they are not obligated to tell us good just because they gave us bad”
I could further mention that maybe server mergers are not “bad” to everyone.
Some people have been asking for this very thing for a long time.
So you said you are tired of this back and forth, so am I.
I doubt we will ever reach agreement on anything else.
So I again give you this opportunity to stop. All I did in this post is restate what both of us have already said. at this stage your point has been made. Just not everyone agrees.
I will stop if you will, if you must respond to this post.
just saying agree to disagree will suffice.
I think the coming consolidations are a good thing. They are the stick and the carrot in one - and more carrot than stick. No offense to anyone but yeah, it’s pretty unreasonable to expect, require, or demand that a company announce things with a sugar coating or really in any particular way at all. Seems very odd to me!
I do not see this as a negative. PvP have been saying too many empty servers are a thing, then the server transfers were added. You could follow the flow from there, but I do not see this as a negative. I’m a PVE-er, and even if my server are one of the ones deleted, I don’t care. I will prepare and keep going.
I think the good news is that it will be harder for a clan to own an official server as is now often the case in PvP. It was about time someone mixed it up to be honest.
Yes, they were seen as empty due to dissatisfaction with pvp mechanics and offline raiding.
This was a message to improve the mechanics not just start removing servers!
Throw out the baby with the bathwater was not the solution asked for at all.
I see them as empty because a lot of people simply didn’t want to play the game anymore (or moved to privates as suggested in the original trimming post)
No matter what it’s stupid to keep paying for empty servers. If any future update brings in a lot of new players they can always open new ones.
I think it’s completely unfounded speculation with absolutely nothing to back it up except a few emotional extortionists trying to get attention by playing the victim - poor poor pitiful me!.
