You added the stick. Now we need some carrot

This 100%. We’ve been calling for condensing the servers for… how long now? Now that it’s finally happening, everyone’s panicking. What were we expecting? That everyone’s stuff, buildings, thralls, etc would be ported over intact from one server to another? I can only imaging the amount of chaos merging 2 servers with full bases built in the Keyhole would cause, let alone other meta locations like the crevice.

I know right?

I am obviously hoping that my base remains intact, but if I’m forced to hop, then so be it, ces’t la vie.

It’ll be an interesting experience I’m sure… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m honestly not sure what will happen as yet, but either way, beyond my control…

Genius! It’s why I love this place.

I’m all for it, I simply wish to have proof against any charges of capricious selection.

We need a Louvre of the Lost.

This is unexpected coming from you. Every time I’ve seen you post, you have been all about surviving, dominating, adapting, etc. I like your posts. It genuinely surprises me that you wouldn’t just suck it up and take it as a challenge to start over.

I can respect that.

I completely understand. And not disagreeing with you on this.

And this is what is one of the results I have been posting about for awhile now. This is shaky ground to be on for a company.

Look, I get it. Private servers cost Funcom nothing to run . All they have to do is make the software and on privates the server owner eats the cost to play the game not only for themselves but for others as well. Win win for Funcom. Closing company payed for servers (rented) saves them money and mods takes away ,if players tolerate it, any need for them to add content to their game thus saving them even more money .

This would all be fine if this was billed as a single player game, but its not. Multiplayer is expected and much of the game is geared to this end and in design. Officals are the only way to play multiplayer (MMO as opposed to Co-op) without someone having to rent a server or have another set of hardware to play the game.

Players see this and this action if not taken seriously and handled very carefully will be very damaging to the hope for new player and many existing players experience.

I have been fighting for my base for a long time, with my clan we have fought to keep our walls standing, we have a dream loot, weapons that no longer exist, a well-kept treasure, three years playing, I have been convincing my clan for days to clean the server Unnecessary builds to prevent a ban, but against server downtime I can’t fight. losing our refuge is losing control of my clan and maintaining morale will not be easy.

Fair enough. I hope you are able to continue the fight :metal:

Well look on the bright side: if your server is actually as active as you describe it the chance that it’d be one of the ones shutdown makes it highly unlikely.

Unless Funcom decided to go full trollface by shutting down the most active ones and moving everyone to the least active. :smirk:

TBH I’ve never understood holding on to stuff in Conan. Every time we’ve become the dominant clan on a server (or sometimes because the server suddenly died, the interesting targets got raided before we could do it etc) we just get bored after 2 days and give our base to another clan or leave it to be offlined or decayed.

I’m happy that I don’t have to level on new servers anymore, but to me the struggle is the fun part… Just being on a server is boring as hell…

Well we will see when I enter the servers and you only see camps instead of large bases and walls, how fun the game will be to break sand houses

build a new base, so you get penalized for building a big base? They are leading to the collapse of the game due to bad decisions.

How fun was it really to break through 30 layers of stacked fence foundations…?

You can still build good bases… People just need to start using their brains and get creative or wait for some new build meta on YouTube.

And it’s the creative bases that are most fun to break in to. The ones that show you something unexpected.

Would be even more fun to defend again something besides bombs. That would be unexpected.

I’m not talking about base layers. They are not easy to do either, it takes time and if you let that clan do it, it is because your clan is not very active in the war against your enemy.

They are erasing bases without layers, they are erasing bases, a large clan needs space. (These bases are the ones that refer me)

In addition, breaking 30 layers, as you say, is not difficult, in two hours you have them broken. I see you like easy things.

I’m tired of the “we need new raid mechanics” threads that essentially boils down to people wanting 50 new defenses so nobody can ever raid them (and then maybe throw in a repair nerf, cos they plan for all the new defenses to take care of it anyway)… And ofc also DBD so they can just log off if attacked lol…

So I’m not getting in to that subject again.

Agreed. I like bombs, but it’s really boring both for the attacker and defender. There’s no back and forth. I want more siege equipment, like Battering Rams, Ballistae, etc to bring some variety to raids. Trebuchets are great, and I love them. They require proper planning and skill to use, and are a dynamic piece of raid equipment Bombs need a rebalance because they’re just too good at everything and don’t have a counter. More raid equipment needs to be introduced so that raiding is fun, and not just about who brought the most boom boom powder.

People on this forum just loooove to jump to stupid conclusions :man_facepalming:

I didn’t write anything about difficulty, I wrote it wasn’t fun to bomb through.

But this has nothing to do with what my comment was actually about (that it’s boring to hold on to stuff in Conan), so I’m not going to entertain it anymore.

why do they use bombs? If making gods has never been so easy, now you go with at least 5 gods to throw a base. There is no base that can withstand an afternoon of gods.

Effort.
