I’ve been posting over here Game doesn’t save correctly but I realized that my problems 1st began with a crash during a purge immediately after that last patch.

Since then, what started off as minor losses in my inventory & few corrupted building pieces has since snowballed into massive losses, vanishing buildings, unsaveable progress, & most recently, gender reassignment.

Everything was saving fine up until that 1st crash. Sure, it was massively buggy with the audio lag, invisible npcs, choppy texture loads, vanishing bodies ect… but my progress always saved & base building was functional.

That last patch turned what already felt like a pay to play beta into a prerelease alpha.

Nearly the same here. A lot of crashes but nothing lost crashes seemed to happen on save so not even time lost unless you count reloading the game. Then a purge and 3 crashes during the purge. And I have all sorts of bugs and problems every time I play. Waiting for the 500 bug fix to see if anything improves

Still no word on if this is fixable or not… ssiiiighhhh

As starter of this thread I’m here to inform that I have disintalled the game and removed it completely from the consolle.
Maybe in 3/4 months I’ll try to check it up again to see if something is working (ok, maybe in 6/8 months) because simply I can see that this product won’t work as intended in any near future.
Unluckily other games are coming up straight to my line and I do not think the changes will be so “dramatically good” to make me change my idea, game is mostly unfinished and not “modern” enough to keep it up with it.
Patches are an endless problem and game is not ready and functional even 2 months after it’s official launch, this is totally unprofessional and sure as hell I will never put any cent on any Funcom’s product.
You are still “hotfixing” with sentences like “altar SHOULD NOT DISAPPEAR”…
Wow, very professional: a fix that hopes to be fixing… is like going to the doctor, telling him about some sickness and his reply is giving some medicine that SHOULD not kill you.

50 euro per being a beta tester.
2018.
Not bad Funcom, not bad… you should candidate yourselves for some politic role, I think you have all the “qualities”

Don’t worry - they understand your frustration.
But that’s all what you got for your money - some understanding.

And I don’t believe anything will be changed over the next 6-8 months, having on mind my year and 2-3 months of experience.

Yes - we saw a lot of improvements, a lot of new features, but this is still not a playable game and the main problem is that they don’t focus on fixing the main issues, instead they adding more and more and more new features, like they will hide the main problems.

OK, it’s playable, but you cannot rely on stability or what will happen in a next 2 seconds, no matter of what you are doing, end especially right after “bug fixes updates”.

And yes - already have 2 paid DLC (one might come even before that 500+ fixes patch)… on a broken game…

You’re a mas0chist
I read the interviews with Bylos in the meantime, where he practically says “we made a game with no passion and incomplete because the genre of the game itself (survival) assure us to avoid bankrupcy”.
It’s like hearing any of our politicians (I’m from Italy) saying that he stole money only because he had to save his family and pay the bills…

Oh really?
So ALL other videogame creators make decent and working videogames only because they are naturally rich and need not to pay the bills?
I feel pretty nauseated about Funcom, they won’t see no single cent from me in ANY of their products.

I just hope only that the artistic team that developed this game can find future good endeavours, all other ones can go to the mine and start digging with their teeth:

They fraud and also admit it.
If I had payed 50 euro on weed I would have been a lil’ happier…

I read the same Interviews and got a completely different context. At no point did he imply they were trying to make a sub par game. What was said from my context was that the bar was so low that they knew they could make a better game than what was out there. Also that they chose the survival genre because it was so popular they knew it would sell. I’m not saying this game is fully polished or not worthy of criticism but please let’s not try to twist the context of what gets said to make it fit our own narrative of what we want to hear.

Just in case you were talking about a different interview

and this is why we have the game we do today rushed to avoid going bankrupt

That happened to me 4 times. Unfortunately your game save file is corrupted and nothing you can do will fix that. You have to start again.

I highly reccomend playing online because at least online has backups regularly.

This is why, if you play single player offline, you regularly make cloud storage backups of your save file by pressing the options button on the Conan Exiles icon in the main PS4 menu and selecting ‘‘upload saved data’’. Then when something like this happens, you go back there and download your save again, overwriting the corrupted data. Make sure that when you make a backup the game exited normally, i.e. it didn’t freeze on going back to the main menu - otherwise your backup is going to be borked as well and it’s all ogre.

Sadly you need a plus account. I have an Xbox in storage stateside and only bought the ps4 for while living in Asia. Been a Sony boycotter since the rootkit crap from back in the day (hurt my soul to buy this console). Not doing the extra bucks for the plus upgrade. Not sure how many others don’t take that option, especially if they trend away from MP games.

Yeah I don’t have a plus account. I don’t play online so I see no point in paying extra for services I don’t use

I wouldn’t have it if not for it being required to play e.g. the Souls games with friends. The idea of suddenly needing a subscription for any online when it wasn’t necessary at all for the PS3 didn’t sit right with me. But I suppose it does have benefits

I liked your style. Even in frustration and indignation - with absolute justice - you write in a good mood. This post made me smile and laugh.

I’m not a Plus owner, no cloud storage.
And anyway, this does not change the fact that the game is what it is.

I’m too old to get real angry… or…well, I get angry but ranting as a donkey leads me to nothing.
I suppose I’m probably older than many of the devs of this game, or at least, same age…
So I treat’em like I’m expecting I would have been treated: as a worker.
They made a “naked barbarian game” to collect money for the bills?
Well, I’d like not to waste my very few surplus money (I’m jobless atm) in game that does not work.

I’d like to touch their “human core”, guys, really… you have a wonderful job (making videogames for christ sake, I’m unemployeed after 18 years in a factory and dumped like sheet (youkwnowhatImean)…
Do not throw away your work doing crap, if you do crap you will receive that.

As a matter of fact, from what I’ve read these past years, developers are treated very bad in terms of employment conditions. Almost all of them are nothing but the lowest tier in company, long hours, bad pay, no one really cares of their opinion since money will be front and center as opposed to quality of the final product.

I am almost sure that these developers, in our case, are not in control to what’s being done about the state of this game; they’re told what to do and most certainly what to NOT do about fixing this game, and it all comes to cost reduction just like in any other industry. Even if they can fix stuff here and they want to, they will not be allowed to, it’s the cost of investment at which the management of the company look at right now. If the cost vs. financial gains does not please them, nothing will happen no matter what we do and how loud we get, it’s all for nothing.

Do you think that releasing DLC’s (which bring money in) while not fixing the game (which fixing does not bring any money now) is unintentional? Cause I don’t think it is. This is just another business, and any business is into making money, raking in the profits, with the least expenses possible.

To me their working condition is simply (and sadly) the “normality”.
I worked in a factory (nothing, and I mean nothing) funny in it, I’ve been to work when i was sick, I was mobbed, I was treated like trash and I always got stucked in the last chain of the food link.
What does it mean to me?
That even if I can comprehend them, I do not feel them… there are a lot of people out there that have an horrible job (if have it!) so I won’t receive anything about that.
Of course I’m not pointing my finger at “that guy” or at that “other particular dude”, I’m simply speaking here in the forum to the devs.
If I could talk in person to the president of the Funcom living at Seychelles and sitting on the shoulders of his working slaves I would do, but only thing I ca do is speaking here.

I’m a customer.
An angry one, that would have prefer a more honest approach to all:
“guys we are failing, but we need help for some good ideas we have” (crowfunding?) Would have been more acceptable and honest.
This fraud campaign (mounts, dominates, pets , etc) is second only to the ultra mega shiitstorm that “No Man’s Sky” brought upon itself.
If you sell a product to ppl , you HAVE to bring it fully… or you don’t do or (at least) you say “work in progress” (but no one will pay full price for nothing that is not… full, is it?).

As I already said in the past threads:
I could overllook the glitches, the wood animations (geez when you swim and grab objects is simply… prehistoric programming) and framerate drops. But the game had (have?) several basic bugs that breaks the promises of a game: and I’m not talking about all things that are missing even if were supposed to be in, I’m talking about bugs that prevents you to complete/understand the lore itself.
Many times I was confused about something knowing not if it was me doing wrong or a bug, it took 2 months to me to discover the basilisk quest (I never check anything online: I play alone) because the animation of the killing in there was so laggy and crappy I didn’t think it was operational.
I agree I’m not a geniuos, but how do you expect to study a game that you are not understanding?
Darksouls (and similars) have crappy lores that are masked in a pompous way by the community, and everyone can argue about that, but the games are working.

Anyone can have an idea about a game, but the game HAS to be operational, or everything becomes… cloudy!
2018 a business company tries to cover its fails by releasing diamonds over crap and thinks that works?
It can go for a couple of month, after those everything collapses, peopel stops believing the project (or worse the company itself) and no longer pay for anything, now or in the near/distant future.
Are they so blind that ruining the not-so-distant future is the best way to pay bills?
Or will they flew with “black helicopters” to pacific islands and fiscal paradises?

As I already said: these devs (general) should apply to a politic role here in Italy: we had many thieves in the past, some new will be a refresh
