The reason I dont like it is that it goes counter the idea of stealing. Stealing other players stuff is a big part of why you would PVP.
Perhaps you should be able to steal the mats used to make the thing or something.

Oh I have no doubt this will make them more money. One wouldn’t even have to look at the internal data to know this. It’s why practically every gaming studio is moving to this model.

Depends. Was being able to share dlc items crafted in the game, (armor, t3 buildings, etc) a bug or a feature? Prior, what was Funcoms official stance on it, both in the TOS and social media outreach?
It was a selling point of the game for me. Obviously, other people purchased the game for other reasons and continue to play for said reasons.
Was it a feature? An oversight?
In pvp if you defeated a player with dlc items, you got to keep it as you looted it from their corpse or raided their base and took it as your prize. That was still sharing, albeit unintended - but it was there.
So yep, exactly like Napster.

Indeed. Basically on any whiteboard in a game design session this is one of the nodes being discussed. Most designers will follow the charge for cosmetics aspect… because people will dump a ton of money into making their character look however they want.
They do mostly try to avoid putting in weapons or items that boost stats beyond what you can get in normal play.
Perhaps a compromise?
If one slays a foe and has the opportunity to loot them, a prompt to the Bazaar can pop up, offering a chance to buy the privilege of looting your kill?
This one jests.
If the loot block is working as intended, it disgusts this one.
If it is an unintended side impact that will be corrected later, well, this one likes to expect higher polish out of monetization… However, based on other factors about this roll out, it is par for the course.

We will see if they re-evaluate. I don’t think its unreasonable that you should be able to loot the item and use it, just not be able to repair it.
But that does get on the slippery slope of being able to loot, but not freely share.
“Hey guys, I just made these bazaar items. Come slay my body so you can “loot them” lolololol”

I’m pretty sure it’s working as intended. Although nobody from Funcom has ever said so specifically, one can infer it from the fact that they acknowledged that you should be able to loot something that was transmogrified into an item you’re not entitled to, but they didn’t lift the loot block for items that you’re not entitled to themselves.
I still harbor some small hope that they will allow players to at least loot items they’re not entitled to use, so they can be gifted or traded to people who are entitled to use them.
That way there would still be some satisfaction from a PVE-C kill or a PVP raid, but Funcom wouldn’t lose any of their precious revenue because of us “freeloaders”, “deadbeats”, and “exploiters”, to use some of the names we’ve already been called on these forums…

It’s not even about the ability to use items you didn’t purchase.
Even if you purchase a pack you can still run into the “You are not entitled” pop-up simply because a back-end server didn’t receive your “entitlement” data.
Players on my server already avoid using BP and Bazaar items due to constant “entitlement” pop-ups that screwed multiple people during dungeon runs or PVP battles.
I won’t be surprised if a general decrease in the server’s performance is caused by constant ddos from the “entitlement” server that checks if you are a “naughty boy” every second you have the game up.

Its happened to me twice now that my stuff was unavailable. Both times lasted about a couple of minutes. I did report a bug with the first one with it.
They are aware.
It is in fact something they need to resolve.

While their ToS notes they can yoink anything you buy at anytime, having it happen with any regularity rightly causes people to stop buying.

Are you implying its a bug? I know I have had the bug trying to access MY OWN stuff that I OWN MYSELF.
Its only happened a couple times though.
