Your Current Experiences on PVP Servers?

I’m curious about your current experiences on PVP servers. With bugs that let players warp inside bases and the ability for some to crash servers to prevent raids, it must be chaotic. What’s the current meta? Do you have any tips for surviving this bug apocalypse?

Edit : why did my post just got silenced?

Some of that can be fixed. Otherwise, under current Windows (like 7 and 10) you’ll have to figure out how to upgrade. but that wall bug is fixed in VR headsets… which was a real no no to allow

Haven’t played for about 2 weeks now.

The update kind of made me lose all will and the thread was thin already with the hacker problem.

I was anticipating the hotfix in hopes the issues with the update were resolved but saw that it made it worse for so many.

Eagerly anticipating the upcoming hotfix but unless the hacker problem is also resolved I’ll stay away.

I’ve always paid attention to private servers. The unfortunate reality with them is none of them meet any of my expectations. The option to create my own is there but I want a multiplayer experience and I’ll never play on a server I admin again.

So Official it is but not right now.

I have no suggestions or advice.

My group “attempted” to play this dumpster fire of a game only to fall through the world with most of our stuff on our bodies. Then what little we had left in the base, a hacker looted through locked chests and vaults, emptying it out.

So needless to say my group rage quit and haven’t touched it since, I’m playing other games myself. So for us, it’s been an absolute nightmare.

There is only 4 PVP servers with any sort of population and I’ve noticed even on those they have drastically went down in population since this last update.

So I’d say it’s not good. Not one bit. Until Fail-com decides to fix what they broke, deal with the hacker situation, things are just going to keep getting worse.

I quit official pvp almost a month and a half ago when our entire base was looted from hackers during non-raid hours. The rest of my clan (there was 8 of us) quit the same time I did. Our allies were done the same way and also quit (there was 10 of them). I don’t have anyone on my friends list or discord that even plays it anymore. I guess Funcom got what they wanted, killed the PvP player base off. They make more money off of PvE players anyways with the bazaar decorations and skins. So I saw this coming for a while sadly. They will go where the money is and forget the rest.

Don’t go all out, just have a little fun. Don’t accumulate too much stuff and spread out the loot.

I think people who feel this way but wish to keep playing official PvP should team up more. There are usually just 2 to 3 hackers on a server at a time. If the server would work together to deal with them, could chase them off early on.

In the meantime we pray to Crom that they appoint Funcom admins to moderate the servers. The safety and playability of the Official servers is their responsibility, makes no sense at all for them to create official servers but not enforce the rules there…

I attempted to join a pvp server once. I joined an official server made my character and after the Conan cutscene i found myself in a large box made of foundations with no exit. :joy:
they put many signs all over the place saying many racial slurs and promises of murder and something about minecraft that I can’t really remember.
Yea I decided that officials weren’t for me. they were funny signs tho.
I never made it past the first lore stone :joy: that’s my story.

Games lacks Battlegrounds or maps that can go into pvp cus I’m booooooooored and I wanna pvp and I play solo, not enough pvp only farming

No. Not anymore. My clan, @alias_46913
being one of them, did that for over a year plus. We actually became pretty good at trolling hackers. Even dealt with the apologists on here that excused it as lag, desync, or sore loser attitude by us. Tje " I know that player, they don’t hack" friends. But the hacker pop has grown to the point that that is all we did for the last few months. Battle hackers and thier friends. Naked scouting thier bvs and sky bases or naked troll fighting them is not playing the game. Dumping our loot then faking we had something just to waste thier time, not playing the game either. But the last one was too much for all of us. A literal clan of 6+ hackers came in. Yeah a clan of hackers, not a solo. This clan also used some tricks to follow us to every new low pop server we went to to try and play the actual game. Hell, FC wouldn’t even let me change my FC ID to let me try and get away from them. So until FC figures a a better way to punish hacker accounts, then i am done.

Just go on Dogs of the Desert. Its literally a battleground training server.

my current experience is hunting a russian hacker on one server, dodging a hacker on two other servers who pays $800 a month for hacks so he can delete your entire base and do damage to structures outside of raid time. i still consider the hackfest of official better than the extreme admin abuse i saw on the last private server i played on.

Ironically, alot of the hackers play there on alts. No for a fact.

I was an official PVP player.
I went on hiatus for personal reasons. My good friend @Barnes invited me back once things had mostly settled down at casa droch.

I tried some of my old characters on various Official PVP servers, Barnes was on no fixed server and said he was finishing up other things.

There were so many hackers and cheaters, I moved to private servers.
Originally we were going to meet on a private server that was PVP-RP
But I just was not able to acclimate to RP.

So I decided, I no longer wanted to deal with building damage with things the way they are now.
I am currently playing on a private pve-c server.
But I haven’t really done any pvp there either. Maybe I’m just tired of pvp.

In my experience, which has not been that extensive pvp wise of late, private servers are usually so chill that pvp may as well be turned off. I’m on two servers where I literally leave things in open stations, alters, ECT outside just to see if anyone will take anything. So far no one has.

That said I play on another one where you do have to watch your back during pvp hours but so far there’s been no hacking or exploiting that I’m aware of.

Aka depends on the server and since they are public bad elements could join anytime. I don’t have any suggestions on how to deal with it if it happens. Personally I’d probably just quit and maybe try some other servers if it happened but neither pvp or the base game hold any appeal to me at this point. The only reason I play on the pvp servers that I do is that they have very low ping and a mod list that I like. Would have preferred pve with the same ping and mods but none existed at least at the time I was looking.

I do go into it with the expectation that it’s not going to be permanent so I never do much if any grinding or hoarding. Not anymore anyway.

privates have no (that i am aware of) exploiters or hackers. Admins usually squash them quickky. Officials are the issue with hacking. And privates are as you said, normally very nonpvp (raid) and when you do get a smidge aggressive, you get called toxic or face admin friends with benefits. So yeah, i am pretty much done. Which is sad, i have completed 2 small mods and about 40% done with a custom map aimed at raid and pvp. But may never finish it. Heirs of War: Scorched Kingdoms was the planned named. Was starting to expand past the initial starting area i created with dungeons and “scorched kingdoms” to rebuild and defend from raids and the environment.

So you are saying that there are actually players on some PvP servers on PC these days? On PS the servers have been basically empty for a long while now after all of the nonsense updates and changes made in the past couple of years.
