Your favourite character in the story?

Coming back to The Secret World, I’m reminded how good some of the writing is. A lot of the characters could tell more stories. Sam Krieg in the lighthouse, for example. I wish he had more missions and backstory.

How about you? Any favourite characters?

Aiden Montag is fabulous.
Saïd, extroardinary.
Daimon Kiyota was one of my favorites until they use him too much in the Manufactory cutscenes and he had no new animations.
Cassandra King inspires too much mystery to not give her more stage time (which I believe won’t happen… ever at this pace).
Lilith was a great villain, a bit like Beaumont.

Harrison Blake’s deadpan delivery, especially with the Star Trek redshirts joke, was very funny.

Sarah and Rada had both very sad tragic stories.

So far (I’m in the middle of questline in the Scorched Desert) I liked in particular Zhara, Tanis and Said. They are, from beginning, three dimensional characters even despite the secondary role of some of them. I liked the trio of the Innsmouth Academy (Annabel Usher, Hayden Montag and Carter) even if more for the setting and the missions than themselves as characters. Same for Tyler Freeborn.
I found, instead, too much overacting or stereotyped characters like Sam Krieg, Eleanor Franklin and some minor characters in Kingsmouth, but I can’t say I disliked someone in particular.
In general, I found all the stories are interesting, investigation missions are challenging (sometimes too much like the damn “Signal Effect” side-quest that took maybe six hours of time to me and my companion to figure how to decrypt the message and find the destination) and it’s very pleasing putting togheter all the pieces of the general story.

Out of the blue:
Norma Creed

Everything went to hell and she still stands there like she is saying “That’s the worst life can throw at me? Childsplay…”
She is like a point of defiance and stability more than any other person on Solomon island…no barricades, no wards, just an iron will and a shotgun.

Something I found interesting about Norma Creed is the way she makes sophisticated references (such as Sisyphus), and yet plays it down and pretends that she’s not very bright. This suggests she’s an unreliable narrator and there’s something more to her…in my opinion.

Favourite character? That’s, as strange as it may sound, Rum. NeuromancerQueen99.

Best villain, however, will always be Lilith. “We can drop the curtain on this farce now, can’t we?”
