A bit of sorcery feedback - light\dungeons\dispel

I wanna talk about few things about sorcery that are on my mind and it would be nice to hear other “fellow” sorcerers thoughts.
Firstly one - durability of sorcery light. I’m very pleased about efect duration changes that come to that spell but on other side we shouldn forget about it’s disadvantages.

  1. To avoid throwing words into sandstorm - let’s talk about direct situation:
  • Yesterday my friend lose battle against gravity at Unnamed City during night ( common situation let’s not judge him :stuck_out_tongue: ). Died somewhere in front of Klael. Due to moment that he was the torch bearer guy I desided to cast light to track his body in sands. I was riding rhino and discovered that I see nothing farther of my rhinos horn. Is it possible to increase “sorcelight\soullight”(not sure how exact spell is called) radius? Maybe make it like torch? Because honestly it blinds more that provide light source.
  1. Second one - while I was waiting by his breathless body Klael told me that instead of lighting area around me “soullight” perfectly lights me - making me perfect target. Sorcerers usualy like attention. But thinking about their low vitality and stamina that attention could be fatal.

Which lead us to next proposal - dispell. I can’t “turn off” soullight or magma wall or darkness or whatever. How about to assign\reassign button and add ability to dispell your own magic? Light, bridge,magma wall and so on. Instead of that funny poke(alt-attack) with magic staff, dunno for what it was disigned for. No offense.

  1. Dungeons - i understand why magic like “slow fall”, “ice bridge”, “Call of Nergal” is forbiden in dungeons - they can break dungeon progresion, make unnesesary bugs or whatever - i understand and agreed but could we at least cast “soullight” in dungeons? (Wine Cellar says hello)

In summary you just don’t need that light spell:
TORCH
Pros: easy unlockable, easy to craft, easy to repair (materials are widespread and not so heavy), nice area effect, can be turnrd on\off in any time, can be used EVERYWHERE (scene from Leon 1994.jpg)
Cons: takes offhand to use.
Sum - usefull everywhere
SPELL
Pros: both of your hands are free
Cons: exept staff you also need consumables (which can be only crafted at base or if you are very lucky looted from dead sorcerer, and usualy are heavyer than 1 wood+5fiber), small area effect, cant be turned off, cant be used in dungeons .
Sum - useful at night when you:

  • like to watch green wisps around you after aroma of yellow lotus
  • decided to go rock climbing
  • going to make that poor darfari watchman shit his pants
  • gona make few push ups with your warhammer

Such QoL thoughts i got near dead body of my friend. Indeed sometimes darkness and ghosts of past can bring you strange visions.
