You miss the part that the rollback would be to Friday either way. So it will be Friday-Sunday loss or Friday-Thursday loss hence the sooner the better.

There’s way more than just a few people who lost thralls.
People who lost thralls that it took them hundreds or thousands of hours of playtime to acquire were the ones who really suffered, not those who lost 48 hours worth of work. They made the right decision to roll back the servers. This is the opinion of someone who lost nothing, besides all the time I spent farming Friday to Sunday afternoon.

I think you and I are in the same position here, complete and total disbelief.
I really can’t even begin to fathom how some people don’t understand the difference between a weekend worth of work, and hundreds or thousands of hours of work.
Would it have been better had they done the server reset right away when the problem was found, of course! Could they (and should they) have communicated better, definitely!

Where is it that he cried for compensation? and compensation for what? He lost nothing during this fiasco, he’s just on the side of common sense.
Marcos has said from the beginning that the best solution was this server roll-back. Many of us who played all weekend are totally fine with the server reset. I wasted my weekend, so what, better that others who spent hundreds or thousands of hours get those thralls back.
OK look I am going to spell this out and why some (mostly PVPers) are a “tad” indignant.
Many have faced ridicule on this forum for pushing things related to balance in the PVP. The Nerf calls that we see every update. They are called as being selfish and not considering the rest of the game. A large portion of forumites here(including myself) have said they are childish and not willing to ‘try it out’. Others have put it out there that these players cry out to FC over these things and affect all people with their changes and that its not fair in that…even after FC comes out and tells everyone that the weapon in question was in error. An error that lead to the outcome of many many PVPers loosing all of their gear and thralls.
Now flash forward to just a few days ago. Suddenly thralls are gone and everyone is loosing their mind. What did we see? MASSIVE CRIES! Massive threats because thralls are all gone. Something PVPers see all the dang time. Yes they signed up for that but so do we all with dealing with potential errors.
Was the rollback just? Yes I think it was. Did they do it timely? I believe they did for the state of the work schedule. Was errors made? Absolutely and they have put out a statement to us all that, i believe if followed, corrects this. Was there a huge level of hypocrisy that raised it’s ugly head during all of this? Unfortunately yes.

Even if it was, you ignore all the things the two of us have said and still stick with your original nonsense.
The amount of people who lost thralls, the gear those thralls were wearing, the items that may have been in their inventory, and the fact most of those thralls were all levelled up and most likely maxed out attributes, means that your idea is quite literally impossible. It is definitely easier doing the server roll-backs, obviously, but it was also the right solution.
Do you believe that those who lost thousands of hours of work should be screwed over as opposed to those who lost 48 hours of work? It sucks that someone has to get screwed, but one of those groups was going to get f’d either way.
I continue to struggle to understand how some believe it was those who lost 48 hours of work that should be the ones who are upset, not those who almost lost hundreds or thousands of hours.

I’m not leading anything on this one. I only lead things I support and this has all the making of tragedy on both sides of it. All I am doing is trying to explain to those that fail to understand why some are upset at this rollback. Especially within the context of history of this forum.

Everyone that had thralls on any official servers and hadn’t logged in for any time over 24 hours lost them. It affected most people and it affected people who’d been on servers for years and had fully leveled thralls and fully geared thralls and max number of thralls the same way it affected a player who started a couple weekends ago and just got their first T4 thrall. It was, by no means, a “few people”.
Refunding thralls by attempting to figure out who had which thrall at what level with what stats and what rolls and what gear was not a reasonable solution (and probably not even possible, given the sheer amount of work it would have entailed, and possible new issues that crop up in the meantime: what if your clan had maxed thrall count but while waiting for these replacements, you got a new one? Which thrall doesn’t get replaced? Or do you get an extra one? Or does the new one disappear as if it never existed?)
There are so many variables on trying to fix things without a rollback that a lot of people don’t consider. A rollback is never desired and never a welcome thing so when it IS done, know it’s not done lightly.
I totally get people being upset over lost progress this weekend (I build in large chunks and then stop for a bit so I get it) but a rollback was the only reasonable solution.

Honestly still in disbelief that a handful of people can’t get this through their thick skulls.
Let’s say you played for 10 hours on each of the two days affected.
Many veterans have one single thrall that you would not have been able to obtain, level to 20, potion of rebirth reroll, and kit out in the gear they lost within 20 hours. And that’s assuming that the thrall and the gear are even still attainable.
Now multiply that by 50+ thralls per player, times over 100,000 active players that were affected by this error.
So I’m genuinely curious at this point: just what the hell did you do in those 20 hours that you think trumps a catastrophic community-wide loss of that scale?

They raided a defenseless base from some poor sod who stayed offline for more than 24h and lost all of his thralls! 
Easy pickings.
Because I can’t believe they are crying this incessantly over rocks!
Now, jokes aside, I can understand the frustration. Obviously. It pains losing progress. But it was either that or letting incredible damage hitting most of the community.
FUNCOM doesn’t do rollbacks lightly. I can only imagine the Armageddon that what was essentially a typo caused!
Their response was timely and adequate. If a handful of selfish players can’t see that, though luck.
Yeah… well, real men don’t whine over nothing dude! Real men have empathy for their fellow exiles and know when it’s time to make a sacrifice and take one in the chest for a greater good. That’s what real men do. You can keep whinning though. It won’t do much, but go for it. See what good it does…

The fact that these are still active is a problem that is persistent on officials regardless. Most of the time when my friends do want to play CE again, I always ask what version and they always play PVP because the PVE and PVE-C servers are just so full of blight of folks that continue to maintain years and years of large builds and high number of thralls. After about a week they remember why they hated PVP servers and so they retreat back and I don’t hear from them for another 2 months to repeat the cycle.

An XP boost isn’t too much to ask for. Aside from that, swallow hard and move along.
the game was down for 3 days?! when? i’ve been playing every day, on and off during the day, for the last few months and haven’t been down for more than a reboot.
unless you meant the official / vanilla servers… but who still plays those besides the noobs?
