For what it’s worth, in real life, there was reportedly a population of hunter-gatherers who contributed to modern European heritage, coming from Siberia and sporting dark skin & blue eyes. Your Cimmerian could have strong ties to that background.
And there you have today’s world in a nutshell. The OP post something having to do with race, a genuine question, nothing wrong with that, and someone says it sounds racists. Yep, another blantant example of cancel culture.
You should really get out more.
Hmm… I’ve read about this when it was published but my english was simply not good enough to fully understand this and I kinda forgot it. Thanks, it was a good time reading this!
But with that information it’s really interesting because the time when modern humans started spreading from Africa the climate was cooler because of the latest glacial period and they weren’t as black as nowadays africans from that region. And in the game the cimmerians aren’t as black as darfari for example which is actually an accurate representation of this modern human evolution/spreading.
Under climate I’m not speaking about temperature only, I mean those regions of Africa weren’t as close to the Equator - so the degree of the sunlight wasn’t as high, the atmosphere was cloudier (heh, even 1 cloud a day is WAY cloudier than now) and the ozone layer wasn’t as thin as it is now.
The 3 main migration routes were Europe, Asia (Siberia) and Australia (through Middle-East) and the article states those 3 regions were the main base locations where the later mixing races in Europe came from.
I think it’s simply a result of randomized appearance that Zerks are subject to. They come in all shapes, sizes, hairdos, wrinkles, etc. Even though they are “named” they don’t have a constant appearance and it’s probably that the random generation just has no constraints. I say, invent your own lore for how they got there and maybe they have an interesting back story!
the cimmerian berserker is the best thrall fighter in the game, you need lucky to get them un 100% strenght
And @stelagel , @darthphysicist Her mother is a darfari exile because her first perk is ‘Expert survivalist’ so she already lost 3 points in STR… I think that’s her story she’s not gonna be my main bodyguard
All the 10 delicious gruel I gave her for this?
I doubt high-end thralls can even have 100% anywhere. I never got a 100% and have 60 high-end thralls. Highest was either 90 or 95 (without food buffs).
He’s just talking about the feats being completely strength-enhancing here.
Even without that, the Berserker has the highest, bar none, damage modifier (3.92) in the game. Even with random feats, he can only be passed by a Dalsinia (who has several thousand more health and 3.9 modifier) or Liam (who has 3.7 damage modifier, but again, around 3K less health than the Berserker).
That’s without strength bonuses, mind. The perk system, as RNG as it is, can make the other thralls more powerful or less powerful, depending on the perks. But toss on epic flawless str armor, and things even out.
Ive had 100% strength on Eri and Zerks, multiple at the same time. It apparently can happen, but I havent repeated that in months now.
You know, loss of three points isnt bad if she got some double Str bumps along the way. Her 3.92 damage multiplier dwarfs the attribute multiplier in the end so I wouldnt give up on her. Who knows, maybe at level 15 she might get angry drunk or better.
Multiple 100% at high-end thralls? Dayum… As I wrote, I have currently 50 high end (volcano, cims and set-city archers) and NONE has 100%.
And I placed >100 and only kept the best 50… So that I never even saw a 100.
When did you have this 100%? When it was new released? Admin mode? Official server?
@Lanessar: Lian (or Janos - everyone forgets my poor Janos and even the Chieftain fighter) always have a higher dmg output than everything else.
Because they have 15 more STR. And thats not small… Even with their lower multiplier, the dmg output is higher.
New Asagarth thralls start with 30 STR. Volcano or cims/Dalinsia with 15 STR.
They are also faster to level, as they are not in the high-end category, but middle-range. But: They have way less HP. A Dalinsia will probably always win against Lian/Janos/Chieftain, because of her abnormal health.
Cims or volcano depends on the VIT rolls.
This was around January. I didnt admin them in; they were truly farmed and I did have like 70 or so of a mix of erii zerks and kisthis. The 100% erii was of course awesome but with those double stat ups that sometimes happen, I’m pretty sure he didnt become ultimately my strongest thrall. I have since restarted my server twice ao I cant go check how he ended, but he will forever be remembered.
Which I have quite often even with <70%.
From my observation: Cims & Dalinsia are leveling way worse in STR than volcano. Even if their % is higher, the volcano have at lvl10 and at lvl20 always more STR.
I have a cim, which has so great STR perks (2x STR perks) and has less STR than some other volcano with non STR perk.
I had Cims which didnt get ANY STR point, when leveling from 17-20!! NOT ONE STR!! And we are talking about STR % chance >65% without gruel.
And then they got a -STR perk at lvl20, which made them worse (dmg output wise) than when they were lvl16-17.
So I grinded the XP for 17-20, only to have a thrall which is worse than it was on lvl16/17…
Gross
True. I gave her flawless epic darfari skin costume and with her original star metal sword, shes doing almost double the damage I do with my blade of the adventurer in +13 STR outfit.
I hope she will get some monster perks to compensate that sin she did!
The best volcano thralls have equal multiplier to Dalinsia, so will do on-par damage. With the right perks, Dalinsia will oustrip Volcano thralls damage, and vice versa. That’s RNG, name of the game.
However, that can be mitigated via gear or weapons. Given everything equal, a Volcano thrall will do more damage than Dalinsia due to their strength bonuses. With RNG, yeah, they can suck.
This is just as good/bad as getting drops. I mean, a Dalinsia with Crom’s is going to make a volcano thrall with any other weapon look pitiful, too.
But the real reason you go Dalinsia is for boss killing. They straight up have 2K more base health, and 20 more VIT than volcano thralls. With Epic Heavy Cimmerian, nothing is killing her at level 20. Realize - she has the perk Fierce Vitality by default.
Take your volcano thrall and sic them on the Arena Champion. I think you’ll see the difference very shortly without any player involvement.
EDIT: Got off track.
But that’s not the Berserker benefit.
The benefit of Berserker is that it’s a damn hard hitting thrall, which respawns in one spot every 15 minutes. guaranteed. You can field an army of these if you religiously farm them with a Greater Wheel within 8 or so hours. At level 0, they will take out almost all bosses in the game, without any feats.
There is non
Cim, Dalinsia and volcano all start with 15 STR.
(Most) New Asagarth fighters with 30 STR. Therefore they make more DMG. But NA are “glass-canons”, because of their lower health.
Cims AND Dalinsia however start with 30 VIT. Dalinsia gets way more hitpoints from the same VIT, as Cims.
Volcano only start with 10 VIT, but 15 SURV. So maybe thats good for poisonus/venomous enemies.
@Jim1 made a great wiki entry/list:
You have to “open the table”. On the right-side there should be sth to click on. You can sort after every column (like highest melee multipllier, etc).
PS.: I cleared UC and the Arena champion only with volcano thralls. Long before leveling patch came. No problem at all.
PPS.: I only capture female cims But I still have >30 in chests… Still have to check if I have a darker skin one
