As a bit of an animal lover at heart, I’m happy to offer you a like on this one BlackMamba. There has been plenty of times when I wished I could give my my favourite follower, my Tiger, a pat. Here is an example from my library which showcases how satisfying interactions with in-game pets can be.
Hopefully one day I see it coming. However, since we are fathers, you must understand why some things must remain cruel and complicated in this game. I don’t want to participate in a server full of underaged players, it would be devastating, other than that, the knowledge that I play with adults makes me feel “safe” to play and I really enjoy the audience.
But yes, I would like to see more options when it comes to animals and I really, really, really appreciate the fact that we finally have dogs in the game.
I agree. In fact, I used my daughter to make this request, since it interests me much more than her in reality (she is too small to play). In addition if it can allow us to caress the thralls too…

Forget what I just wrote.
I’ll one up this and say I don’t want to participate in a server full of underage maturity levels. I have played in other games where I got better and more meaningful participation from the kids than I did from the adults.
HAHAHAHA. Ah yes caressing thralls and the emotes makes this like God of War special minigames.
This I can handle my friend. It is not once or twice playing a game that I became a 5 year old too. People invest time and feelings to this game so it’s very possible to cross lines and I am no better than anyone. Other than that this is exactly the reason to do a hobby, to avoid for awhile your reality, or better to escape 
. If your server is full with adults, your environment is safe. You can do what you do, accept the consequences and move on. If your server is full of minors and you cross lines then you are not just a bad player but a criminal.
People in this game oftenly, flirt, buly, swear, etc…
If a woman accept gaming flirt, she can protect her self, if a girl? I can’t say that she can protect her self, other than that flirting teens is a crime, at least for me it’s a big crime. Buly an adult again the same, he or she can protect self or why not report. Do teens report? Are all the teens capable to accept buly? Isn’t the school buly enough? So bullying a teen it’s a crime too, again for me big crime. And so it goes on.
I can give you examples all day WHY teens an minors cannot play this game without supervision from a parent. I don’t find Conan exiles very violent game so teens can’t play it , but the online version is another story.
The bottom line? I always wanted a game that only adults would participate and I finally find it. And yes I don’t want to see servers full of minors, no thank you, it’s daddy’s time, period.
Petting
I get that and adults do need a safe space…which is why I loved clubs and bars back in the day because they carded folks and weeded out potentially ugly liabilities for people there. Online should be no different but unfortunately, there isn’t a good way to "card " people online
@stelagel and @drachenfeles. I must politely disagree with this perspective. Based on the standards established by the ratings syatem, the game is not for sale to underage players. If parents choose to disregard these guidelines and let underage children play Conan Exiles, a game filled with slavery, full nudity and dismemberment, then I am sorry, but the onus of responsibility falls to the parents to explain to the the child what is happening and why. And that is coming from someone who is a father of one himself. Moreover, I do not feel that adding the ability to pat an animal will be the catalyst for leigons of toddlers signing up to play Conan Exiles.

And here I am, still disappointed that “Punch a camel” was not one of the Journey steps. But when it comes to non-camel animals, I think petting them would be a very Conan thing to do. So I whole-heartedly support the idea of adding a “pet” action on the interaction wheel.
I’m less certain about letting us, erm, pet our thralls, even though it would fit in the lore. It might get too creepy.

I feel like I should be outraged, but full credit for misdirection. It may not be quite what we had in mind, but at least it is a positive addition.
This may be a simple misinterpretation my friend, goodness knows I have had my share of them over the years. But just to check if we are on the the same page on this one or not, here is what I thought that you and drach meant:
I interpreted this as meaning that you would prefer not to add the ability to pet animals, as it would encourage more underage players to play the game, especially on official servers, and this is something which does not appeal to you.
Is that correct @stelagel, or have I grossly misunderstood here good buddy?
It is just a fear…
Father to father and gamer to gamer we totally understand each other. I am always “in” to more pve content as long as it stays “complicated” enough to keep away minors. I know it sounds egoistic from my side but I really enjoy the difficulty of this game because it’s “boring” for minors, at least the most of them, so I enjoy the safe adult environment playing on line.
It is egoism from my side because if Funcom make it “easier” or like @drachenfeles said “family friendly”, then the sales of this game would explode, minecraft is still on market and I don’t see it going away for more years now.
I don’t disagree with @BlackMamba suggestions at all, I just expressed a worry we all share, I believe.
Let me however share with you a bad online experience I had years ago, so you can understand why I enjoy Conan so much…
I am a gamer, so it is very logical for my children to see their protype to hold a joystick so they will do exactly the same the soonest possible. So my son and daughter were playing video games for really small age. Hopefully my wife was a great leader in this part and my children never played more than they should and only after they “earn” their gaming time. Yes to this my Angelica was supreme, I was lucky.
I always wanted to help them on their video games, so I was always playing their games to find tricks that would help them to play easier and better. When they were finishing a game I teached them to watch the credits. They had to know and understand how many people worked so they will have this game to play. They had to learn to respect the gaming companies and the games. So one day years ago my son downloaded fortnite. I started playing fortnite too…
Before I know it I had friend requests from all the ages you can imagine. Ofcurce I couldn’t imagine too and that was the bad part. They all wanted to play with me because I was giving them materials and good weapons the soonest possible.
So when mister Stelios was online I was accepting numerous group requests, I couldn’t fail them so I was trying to fix a large group so they all play together, however this was neither fun, neither healthy, at least for me.
I couldn’t see it healthy because I was 40 playing with a total stranger 6 year old, no matter if my intentions were good and safe for the child, a 40 year old man should not play with a stranger 6 year old and I don’t think I have to explain why I believe…
So this environment was not safe for me first and then for the other children. So it took me 2 weeks to understand it and stop it before I get trouble from literally nowhere. Hopefully until Conan exiles arrives in my gaming life Gerald of rivia was a good company , an adult game that I enjoyed a lot.
So my friend, I believe you understand where my “fears” lay on and you do understand “why” adults need “their” game.
OH I love Conan, it’s daddy’s time and I love it more
