I spent a lot of time on an official PVE-C server building a fantastic base as a lone player. Yesterday I sank through a foundation and could not free my character. If I had demolished that foundation a whole side of my base would have collapsed. So I thought may aswell remove bracelet to free myself.
Only I hit recreate character instead! I am in bits and cannot bare to start again. Has Funcom ever reinstated if it was a first time accident? I been playing for about 3 years, thanks
I never heard of any one getting there character back on the Forum. I have come close to doing recreate more than once. Sorry to hear about your loss. @JimmyLondon
Thanks man. I am going through tough time in real life so engrossing myself in that base really helped me detach. That is why hit me hard that lost my character. I have contacted help desk in case but if they will not reinstate me I will just have to have break then rejoin same server and lurk near my former base to loot it when decay is over

I just recreated my character, ran all the way from newbie desert as almost zero level to my old base and amazingly no one had noticed the instant decay on doors etc. I built a stone hut with lots of chests.
I have just managed to salvage every single worker thrall, resources and valuable contents in chests. Lost my best armour and weapons and fighter thralls/ horse etc but at least got bulk of valuables.
When main structure is ready to demolish I will rebuild on the spot. What a relief although have to level up again and get all old knowledge back again, feels a mountain. This has taught me a very hard lesson to pay more attention in future!

If you were the only person that your base belonged to (as in not in a clan/the only member of your clan) it instant decayed when you recreated. You can long press X on any building piece and hit demolish and it’ll all pop and you can rebuild.
Are you on Xbox? Which PVEC?
they need to separate the recreate character from the remove bracelet, moving it further down the recreate character will be a quick fix that will thankfully avoid issues like this in the future
I’m late to this discussion by a day. If you are still reading this OP and others having the same problem, the only solution I know of works if you’re the leader of a clan.
I found it impossible to use recreate character by accident, if I were the leader of a clan. The prompt would always ask me to leave my clan first.
I notice a lot of people playing solo on official servers that never create a clan. They’re just one button away from losing everything.
I have only tested this as a solo clan leader. I don’t know about lower ranks.
Hi Buddy, it might help if you save to a USB or similar? I kept on randomly losing stuff and restarting, then I discovered that by formatting a USB and sticking that in, I can save where I got up to. Now I save every time I log off and never have any problems.
If you do that and experience the problem you did, you can just go and reload the last save and there you are again.

Hello thanks for all replies. I got all internal possessions but lost any resources from whole structure which was annoying, I must have missed it collapsing. It does not matter now I have rebuilt and bigger and better this time. Definitely taught me a hard lesson to pay more attention next time
