Admin Abuse on Official Server

Game mode: Online
Problem: Miscellaneous
Region: US

I have been on this PVE server for a while, and frequently use the obelisk at the sinkhole as a drop off to my base. Another player had rapidly developed a sprawling pattern of sandstone foundations that looked to obstruct any access to the obelisk. I approached him and we exchanged emote greetings to show that I acknowledged his new endeavor (This will be relevant information). In an attempt to deter further building around the obelisk I placed my own foundations as close to his as I could and created a path to my base in order to assure we still had access and were able to use it. I know that Funcom does not see an issue with obelisk obstruction, even on PVE servers and I can deal with that, but here is were I think I might have a reportable plight.

After less than 12 hours after being placed, the foundations I had strategically built had decayed and then were immediately destroyed by the player who was then able to continue building their wall. Really? How could this happen on an official server? Everything takes much longer to decay and my friends and I are on every single day. This alone should be unacceptable as I can only see it being either admin abuse or a hacker somehow.
What else is interesting is that between my foundations being destroyed in my event log it read that I had died while offline due to ‘temperature changes’? I was wearing temperature appropriate armor, in my base, offline and died to ‘temperature changes’? How? This makes me nervous to engage the player in any sort of tactical workaround on my part if there is always a threat of some kind of God mode ability to kill any of my clan mates in our sleep as retribution.

Of course I have screenshots to verify these claims if I should need to produce them.

I need someone to help recosile me on why it is allowed or how these actions are even possible on a PVE official server, since I have reported the issue through my ps4 console’s server selection menu and have not received any response. Thanks.

The funcom gang won’t be on till Monday. There time @xzzzbzttnzzzx recommended sending a message to @Hugo or @Ignatius official server’s don’t have admins. Have not heard of anyone hacking ps4 servers. I am sure someone more knowledgeable will contact you.

There are people exploiting some of the recent bugs in the game could be what they are doing.

Dying from temperature changes while offline had been happening for a long time. I don’t think he was using some sort of hack here, just bad luck for you. Official Funcom response to this is to place all your gear in a box before logging off.

As for your foundations decaying, did you check them with a repair hammer to see how many hours they had? Sandstone decays quicker than tier 3 pieces, and the decay time would be based on how many pieces were connected. You need a lot of sandstone blocks (I don’t have exact numbers, but like over 50) to get the full decay time. Also, if it wasn’t actually connected to your base, it probably didn’t inherit your base’s decay time.

Once an item is in decay state, any player can destroy it.

Hello @xzzzbzttnzzzx, thank you for reaching out!

As Arsenalcontrol mentioned, it’s possible to die while offline due to temperature changes. We’d suggest checking for any temperature effects before exiting the game, as well as depositing all your inventory in a chest in order to prevent any possible loss of items should something happen to their characters while you’re offline. It’s also recommended not to sleep close or anywhere above or below heat sources such as furnaces, since they provide heat even when above or below the area they’ve been placed in.

Regarding the decay, did you check their decay timer with a hammer? There’s no known issue or exploit that would cause buildings to decay way before the time stated on their decay timer.

I guess I was unaware of foundations decaying so soon after being placed. I’ll just chalk it up to a series of lousy, seemingly suspicious coincidences. Thanks for the help.
