Base disappearing

Basic Info:

Platform: PlayStation 5
Issue Type: Other
Game Mode: Online Official
Server Type: PvE
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: 3502

Bug Description:

Me and a friend of mine have a few bases on the server mentioned above. We have timers set on our phones that alert us to get on the game to check and reset our base timers. When I got on yesterday I noticed the base I was at was invisible and not rendering in, as I would move my character and glitch back insinuating there was building materials there I just couldn’t see due to rendering. After a few minutes of nothing loading in I reset the game and loaded back in to still see nothing there, however was able to freely move around. The base seemingly vanished. I checked our other 3 locations around the map and all were around 60 ish hours remaining on the timer. The event log mentioned the structure decaying. However all structures were checked and reset to 240 hrs around 168 hours ago as we check every Friday evening and it’s gives us a few days grace period if neither of us can be on. All of this was found out on 4-25-25. Today 4-26-25 I got back on and noticed our small location near a cave we farm resources at is also gone and timers were reset yesterday to 240. Any advice on this issue would be appreciated. We have years in this server and don’t want to see all of our stuff seemingly vanish out of the blue.

Wish I could tell you… first thought would be that you got admin wiped, but the fact that it doesn’t say “admin” in the event log AND you were able to log in the next day rules that out. Very strange though. I’ve heard of bases (and thralls) being decayed prematurely, but it’s fairly uncommon. I’ve even heard of bases begin destroyed by other players on the server when they weren’t… and they weren’t decayed either—which is the only way a player could destroy it in PvE. This happened to someone on my server. They blamed me since their event log said I did it. I didn’t even know their base location. All-in-all, sounds like a bug.

What does the event log say? If they are gone it would give hints how they were removed.

This is all they said.

Usually an admin removal would mention admin. Also, it would have a bunch of lost stability.

Other than early on, since fall 2021 I haven’t seen anything other than “lost stability” in regard to FC actions.

Do you have an example?

Funny enough, i had a base completely disappear on an offline map i was on by myself.
Hours of work just vanished and it was also on ps4.
Never did find out what happened, i just loaded my save to continue working on it and all my base progress was just gone.
Nothing lol…

If you can: take a screencap of the event and post it here.
A screencapture of that event with any surrounding events could give people a better idea of what might have happened.

Sometimes a screencap is better than any description.

There’s for sure something wonky going on with base stability in general and seems to be exacerbated on PS…

If anyone wants me to quote what I’ve gathered so far in the Bugs and Issues list for PS/Stability/Integrity I can.

Thanks for the reply, I was figuring it was a bug of some sort. We have been in this server for around 3 years and also played on Xbox back in the day and never had anything like this happen before. The base was large and densely decorated. I wonder if it was possibly too much for the game to load and just wiped it all, but that’s all just speculation. The strange thing to me was the time it decayed. It would have still had plenty of time from when we checked the past week. It would have lasted from Friday to Wednesday so 5 days from reset to full decay.

When scrolling through the event log it’s filled with the decorations decaying. For example “ large chest owned by X has decayed” I can’t seem to view the structural parts itself as the list only shows 200 entries in the log and that base would have way more parts than that. I was hoping to see foundations walls etc to see if it would give more clues as to what happened.

When did all this happen?

Since when? As far as I know it has always just been “lost stability”.

Wiped for ToC violations.

Ya, “excessive land claim”.

My Set, if the thought that your build might be to big for the server to load.

Just how much of the fornicating server do you think is yours to pave over?

You do realize other people play on that server too right? It’s not your server to ignore the rules of is it.

I’m sorry but players like you are part of the reason I think the official servers need periodic wipes.

NOT A BUG

Not off hand. However I believe I’ve seen people post here with their event logs. Iirc, it usually says they removed a foundation “by admin” or something, then everything else loses stability. Even if I’m wrong, I know for certain it won’t say “decayed.”

Unlikely. While it’s very likely they may have that occur at some point—and may have deserved it— the result is more often than not a suspension, which they didn’t get… also, admin wipes don’t say “decayed” prematurely.

Ya it wouldn’t say decayed unless there was a bit left over that wasn’t connected and they didn’t login in time, unlikely and doesn’t happen often.

I’ve seen comments like that too but never anything. Going on my own experiences: twice I wouldn’t have been able to see it, the third I saw the bottom and nothing about admin.

Regardless not seeing this as a ToC/Helpshift related action, yet. Sometimes the suspensions take 3-5 days to occur for some reason.

Rather, there’s been so many instances of similar wonky things happening with decay lately; such as returning to refresh in time but prematurely occurring. Thing is, I’m not sure if players mean the actual decay or the 24hr grace period.

Oof… decayed objects are a result of no longer being in contact with the larger base. They’ll lose their full timer eventually. It’s possible you might have had an admin wipe, but unlikely given there’s usually a suspension afterwards. I would recommend building smaller if you decide to rebuild, just in case you got lucky with said admin action. It also will help server performance.

Yeah… this whole situation is quite suspicious. I’ve never seen it take a few days for a suspension, but good to know. OP should be prepared just in case.

That was through zendesk though.

I don’t follow. What does zendesk have to do with the time it takes for a suspension?

Nothing now

What is it helpdesk now or something.
