Could you expand on the circumstances? If the mission appeared right after Fountain of Youth, whether you got outstanding or not, etc.
Maybe it’ll be expanded upon with Season 2?
no, i do not have martin. though he is one i’ve been stalking, specifically because of his dossier.
and, just like in the dante chain (another discussion here), i’m noticing subterranean show up within two mission cycles of finishing fountain of youth. but not every time fountain of youth is finished (i am leaning towards the ‘once a day’ idea for it to show). also just like dante, never got an outstanding that led to the next mission, but gotten the next mission.
also, just bringing it up because i had to look her up myself. hana is the lady who gives the ‘foot massage’ in the dragon intro. i like how the dragon missions involve her instead of bc or dk (for the obvious reasons they couldn’t use those two)

I have Martin, I still haven’t gotten Subterranean Lost and Found.
But because of this:
it seems it doesn’t matter. Cleared Fountain of Youth several times, but no Outstanding Results, nor do I have any agent capable of the bonus. Sold a Daniel Martinez the day after the agent system came out. He’s good for an increased chance of Outstanding on Intelligence bonuses, and Fountain of Youth is Intelligence bonus. Should buy him back. It would still be a profit, I got 400k for him.
I liked how easy it was to overlook the Dragon faction missions, for just that reason. Though I immediately worked out who Hana was (the Dragon tutorial mission mentioning her helped).

The time I did Subterranean was on Giovanni Bellanova and he failed it. I haven’t seen it since, although I’ve had Fountain a few times. But haven’t had an Outstanding yet.
Popped in the first refresh after I turned in Fountain of Youth. Can’t remember if I got outstanding on it or not, but I sent Daniel Martinez, the other agent who references Guatemala in his bio.
had fountain of youth pop up for me 3 times today already. got subterranean once off it. of course, faction recruit didn’t get an outstanding, and no agent reward
editing to add: i actually just got subterranean for the second time for the day, so it doesn’t seem to have a once a day limit like some of us were thinking. still doubt faction recruit will do better this time around, and she’s still the only agent i have with more than 30% affinity
Does SL&F pop in the same slot FoY was in, immediately after?
I ask because I have done FoY probably 20-30 times now, even gotten Outstanding Results with Martin, and watched the slots for reset after, and not once seen SL&F. I wonder if you have to do all of the other possible Guatemala missions first… I think I have, but without a missions tracker, I can’t swear to it.

every time i’ve noticed subterranean lost and found, it was the immediate next refresh after fountain of youth, usually within about 4 minutes of the previous one being completed. it’s not always in the exact same slot, though. seems both fountain and subterranean can show up in either of the top to slots, similar to the dante’s chain. and i’m expecting it to be similar to the dante’s chain in that there can be one complete refresh between the two, but haven’t seen that yet. i mostly try to time sending an agent on it so there’s less than 2 minutes 'til the refresh listed (and remember, refreshes are based on the duration of the current mission of each slot)
Got Subterranean for the first time, right after a regular success completion with Montgomery. I don’t have Martin Espina or Daniel Martinez. So I’m also going to concede that the Agent flavour text is just flavour text.
I have now sent Petru on this mission of supreme importance. He comes with an increased Outstanding success chance, so we’ll see how that goes. Edit: Regular success; the search for Ibrahim continues.

I’ve done all three of the other Guatemala missions at least two dozen times each. No SL&F has ever popped up for me.
i’m slowly leveling my third alt up enough to be able to use agents. the plan on this alt is to do zero missions that say ‘guatemala’ in them until tier 3, then just run fountain every time it pops up, to see if there are just two missions in the chain.
as is, i don’t recall how many of those missions my second character did. i didn’t care much on them. my primary character made sure to do everything that said ‘guatemala’ no matter what. both characters occasionally get subterranean as an offer after finishing fountain. not every time, not after outstandings, not with specific characters. it just seems random (and possibly tied to a timer after finishing fountain). we’ll see…eventually
I’m nearly convinced that the chance to see the next tier of a mission chain is simply random. The one condition to be met for the Guatemala mission chain is to succeed at Fountain of Youth at some point earlier in the day, possibly soon before some Tier 3 missions refresh.
None of my agents were high enough to send them on it but I did see this special blue-backgrounded mission in Tier 4: “What Are They Up To?” I didn’t see it listed on the spreadsheet (left a comment) but I assume it is also one of the required missions…?

Hessonite managed to get to SL&F (the last mission in the chain according to the achievement) prior to unlocking tier 4 at all. So the two tier 4 missions (that one and Rescue Attempts) and the tier 5 mission (Soldier Smash!, which looks to be related to that one) shouldn’t be required. The jury is still out on whether the T2 missions (Where Did That Come From and Rescue Mission) are actually required, though Hess did say she was going to attempt a proper experiment on one of her lowbie alts (by intentionally avoiding all the missions that mention it except for the tier 3 ones).
indeed, i plan on testing on a lowbie alt but that requires me to actually play the lowbie, which won’t happen 'til this weekend, at the earliest. work kicked in and is kicking my butt already. and then on top of that, i have to actually force myself to play the blue teamer, since red and green both already have subterranean unlocked (and i’m pretty sure i skipped the earlier stuff on green, but want to redo on blue and actually ensure that i do)
and yes, i did ‘subterranean lost and found’ on my red team (main) character well before even unlocking tier 4 missions. got the achievement for completing the mission chain. so tier 4 and 5 ‘guatemala’ are not part of the chain. which is why we want to test skipping the tier 1 and 2 ones, make sure whether they are or not

Mission description text is in there for pretty much every mission with exception of a few of the rare ones, like Dante’s 2nd and higher, Subterranean Lost & Found, and possibly some blue/purple missions at Tier 5. Also maybe some Special missions. Hard to say since they only come around once a week.
yes, you’ve listed each and every mission. but i see nothing verifying ‘yes, this mission is part of the guatemala mission chain’ or ‘no, this mission is not needed for the guatemala achievement, even though it says ‘guatemala’ in the description’. that is what i’m trying to test
