al-Merayah - filled my base with Raiders

Went to al-Merayah to piss around a bit, testing gas and explosive arrows. Knocked out and tamed a few Raider 3’s. Busted the front gate open. Had to split so I went to bring the thralls home to my base, which is on a bluff near New Asagarth.

A dozen Raider 3s inside, dropping fire bombs. My thralls not reacting when they’re all set to Guard. Half of my boxes and crafting stations were either damaged or fully broken. Most of my combat thralls just seemingly stood around and died.

Did it spawn them inside? I have no idea. Did they walk all the way there? I also have no idea. Playing on singleplayer.

I have heard of this kind of thing before, but I’ve never heard of your defensive thralls not responding. In fact, the videos I’ve seen of this occurrence show thralls at the base attacking the raiders. Interesting…and frustrating, I’m sure.

I used to have an occasional black hand or darfari come and attack one of my signs or torches and either die to guards or manage to run away lmao

Raiders spawning all over apparently. The breaks that are introduced with updates are truly mind boggling…

Welcome to the forum.
It happened to me too but not in my house.
I met them in the entrance of black keep and in the entrance of dregs on an official server.
Annabriela on twitch had a similar experience like yours.

it’s unfortunate but also like I just finished the Season Pass, cleared all of the dungeon content on EL and was just going to finish up my run with the raider base but I guess the game thought it was a bad idea to try.

I met them at the spawn when lvl1 lol.

Wtf its completelly new, to me funcom heavly wants to destroy our bases! andmkae us leave the leave the game. Instead of adressing the pve raid with purge exploit they are helping it lol.

As ToBeDetermined showed through his linking my report, I had the misfortune of running afoul of this bug too. It was strange that not only did they spawn in my base, but on the second floor in my characters bedroom. I lost 3 thralls in the assault, including two on my T4 dancers.

This is pure specualtion mind you Rust, I do not tout this as a fact, or say it with any assurity. But I theorise that perhaps the spawns feom Al Merayah follow either us the player character or our spawn points for an undisclosed period of time after we visit. There. What I do know is that when I attacked Al Merayah and subsequently travelled back home immediately thereafter via Admin Teleport, that was the occasion they followed me. I just arrived and heard a god awful commotion coming from within. I soon found the aftermath all too late when I entered my characters bedroom, which was on the second floor and had a closed door separating it feom other rooms. So I wonder if perhaps their spawns are following either myself or the spawnpoint. I know that as a countermeasure of sorts, I no longer go straight home from Al Merayah, but instead do other things or .ake other stop offs beforehand.

I have had them spawn at my base, but I did not have a spawn point there.

Was funny to see a pile of corpses underneath the one thrall I had at my base.

This one’s favourite such event was being jumped by Stygian Raiders when entering the Dregs.
By the time loading was finished, this one has nearly bit it.

But yes, this happens, it happens all over the place.

Your 1 thrall should consider purchasing a lottery ticket, or at least treat him to some good grub when you next log in. To put it tactfully, thrall AI needs improvement, and I have seen many lvl 20 thralls in high end gear meet their demise at Al Merayah or in the Purge. Job well done to your thrall.

and now MORE fun! Who had the idea of making it unlimited respawn around the fortress? I think the system should check how many players +thralls are in the vicinity and then adjust spawns accordingly. Give it a 2-3 minute timer or make them like blow a war horn for reinforcements.

I went in with a L20 Berserker, in silent legion gear with a decent greatsword. He died so fast against them.

I came back with 3 zombies, all (because of authority) at about 14k hp. Chewed through them like nothing. One was dead before I got the first gate opened because ?? the spawns just walk through gates.

So, ok. I thought, if there’s infinite spawns that means infinite thralls so I popped up a small FOB just at the end of render. Wheel of pain, bonfire, some benches, and a small storage room. I put up the Season Pass camp walls and started clubbin’. The raiders have great all around stats so I thought, I could make an archer wall or shield wall to just drag the spawns out and level some thralls.

I had about 8 Raider 3’s situated and guarding inside, went home to make some basic gear and come back. I wanted medium strength armor + sword & shield. I want them to be more defensive around this little wheel.

I came back and the thralls were all dead, with 6 Raider 3s inside? and the gate was still closed?

Y’all really designed it to be this way? On purpose?

I wouldn’t rely on thralls for raiding al-Merayah. NPC combat seems to be tuned for a text adventure game. Turn-based actions with seemingly no understanding of the three degrees of freedom that they have. Funny to see an npc use block and hold it in the same direction while you walk around it and smack it.

Pretty sure the homeless Stygian raid turning up at your base to have harsh words with your character is intentional. It’s just poorly implemented and buggy. Hammer them hard enough and they’ll spawn in.
