Alt + Tab Causing Hard Lock-Up

Game mode: Online Private
Type of issue: Crash
Server type: PvP
Region: America

Alt+tab and the game locks up. It stays on screen. I cannot tab to anything else. I have to restart my computer to fix this.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
1.Be in-game
2.Alt+Tab

It works okay a few times, but it will inevitably lock up. This has been an issue through the life of this game, but with the most recent “fix”/“update”, it has gotten much worse.

This used to also never be an issue except in-game, but it is now happening when I am in the mods section or when I am looking at the list of servers. It just locked up again as I was trying to get the connect id for the server (since server list no longer shows recently played or servers I have a character on, so I -have- to alt-tab out to get that info), and it locked up. So two lock-ups required me to restart my computer, since I cannot shutdown via Task Manager.

Stability is much worse. Please address this instead of making it worse with “updates”.

Seleos, the first thing I do, and you probably, is to match resolutions between the windows screen and the game screen. Also, I only run in fullscreen windowed.

If you have both of those already done, I’m out of ideas.

Good luck !

Now I just had this - " Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost". No alt-tab, nothing. Game just locked up and again I had to restart my computer.

Thanks, but I do not have an AMD CPU

Do you have onboard video card as well? Try disabling that one and also try fullscreen windowed as per Jim1’s suggestion.

I am not very technically inclined, but I always run games with the same resolution as my monitor. I do not run in windowed, though. I run full screen. I also think I have an integrated chip set. I will check. The thing that worries me is that until the last update, I was not having these issues. I have not changed anything. Conan was updated, and I did updated my video card driver. That’s it.
