An obvious observation

Hi Exile Builders! This might seem super obvious or mentioned before, but would Funcom brains be interested in making some of the designs in PC mods available as a native update for consoles?

I saw in one PC mod for example, the ability to carry a shield on your back or sheath your sword etc. that would be a cool addition to consoles…?

If there are copyright issues is there no way to come to a royalty agreement? Perhaps make the features of the PC mod a part of a console DLC? And a portion of sales can be forwarded to the responsible author?

Just a thought…

When it comes to things like incorporating a mod into the base game, it does get rather complicated legally speaking. A dev for an MMO I sometimes enjoy explained the issue on their forum around a year or two ago. Suffice to say it’s not nearly as simple as just paying royalties.

While obviously not the same game, Ark has enjoyed significant success adopting player created maps at least.

Honestly, I would love to see, say, the Savage Wilds, adopted and brought to console.

There is some legalese to be navigated, but at least creating that groundwork would be very useful in keeping existing players engaged and possibly attracting new ones. All at less cost to Funcom, both in terms of resources and in terms of development staff time.

Given the… particular pace… that Siptah has taken, and the toll it has taken on the largely neglected console community, it may be of benefit to allow a bit of outsourcing.

It’s also technically not as simple as paying royalties. A mod that works for PC is still a mod made for PC. It can’t simply be copy-pasted into consoles and hope it works, especially not as part of an official release (not that Conan Exiles’s official releases have always been perfect quality, but that’s a different story).
