Animation Canceling is a feature, not an exploit

And the fact that due to processing time, it could be exploited to do damage and not use stam, ie the hammer for a good bit on ps4. I was trained to time the cancel mid swing and you loss no stam and still did the dmg.

To amplify @Kikigirl who has it exactly down: with my Razer mouse it is very easy to use Synapse and create frankly countless Macros. Additionally, with a Razer KB, all the keys can have Macros.

I’ll have to roll the tape back but during my last run to 60 I recall a couple of occasions with the short sword where I could roll out. Does anyone know whether it could possibly be cancelable per move or per weapon? Is Conan Exiles coded to do that? Because, cancelable for some and not for others is neat.

In any case, I am very much behind a half-stam cooldown penalty.

That wasn’t a PVPer. That’s someone who would get utterly wrecked in a RP-PVP server and would throw and absolute fit the moment they had to go through consequences beyond simply respawning.

But their reliance on macros and other exploits to have a chance in PVP should have been evident of that. Nothing you haven’t already concluded already.

BTW, I can guarantee that Funcom did not remove Animation Canceling because of @Anglinex. On the other hand some who run around using YouTube / Twitch vidoes and CHATGPT as their source material to insist that their favored exploit is in fact not an exploit and thus should be brought back… sounds pretty snobby to me. :woman_shrugging: After all, who care is people are using an exploit as long as YOU are satisfied in the end right?

I heard the only reason Super Smash Bros. features an air dodge is for the purpose of wavedashing.

Likewise, I’m sure that Funcom didn’t mean for players to use the wield/unwield hotkey for the purpose of conveniently reusing the same weapon again on a platform with limited buttons available. That’s just a weird side effect. No, the real reason that button exists is for animation cancelling, a feature so obviously integral to the core gameplay that it’s never been documented anywhere.
