Another change that noone asked for, where are you getting your "Feedback" from?

IN YOUR OPINION. You know what your opinion and $5 will get you at Starbucks? A cup of coffee and being told to keep it to your self.

So just running along, stop, look around, make sure there is nothing to aggro, open my map, move it around find me, zoom in to see which direction I’m going, got it, close map, run for a while. Stop repeat.

Running along, glance up, see I’ve drifted a bit south, and correct coarse.
Now how many steps did I just save myself?

Man, If it wasn’t for a couple… no. no this one really is the most ludicrous conversation I have had this week.

Oh so you want to play this game Mr Farquad, mmmm?
Right to personal attacks, how small of you.

Oh my lord you mean a compass isn’t a GPS  oh what ever will I do

I’ve known how to use a compass since I was 7. Seems like they are pretty new to you.

If all I need to know is the direction I’m going, and that is what the compass tells me, why on earth would I need to open the map?

You’re once again wrong, as usual.

The Battle Pass didn’t fail because players exploited it…it failed because of Funcom’s poor design choices and their attempt to squeeze out as much money as possible. Let’s be real xD, the tasks were repetitive and boring af… Basically “kill/go to/collect,” with rewards that didn’t feel rewarding. It wasn’t about the players exploiting it… it was about a system that simply wasn’t engaging or thought out properly. Players weren’t abusing the system, they were just trying to get value out of it

Oh and it wasn’t about the Battle Pass failing as a concept, it was about Funcom realizing they could make more money by selling individual items that were originally from the battlepass for double the price…Or.triple.

It’s not prioritizing what the community really wanted;, it’s a business decision to milk the player base by offering rewards at higher prices.

So, no, the Battle Pass wasn’t removed for any of those reasons you’re barking. It was taken out because Funcom realized they could profit more in a different way…it’s the developers who should have made it right in the first place.

Educate yourself, Im tired of having to teach you how things work

Unrelated note.

Incorrect.

I have been asking for a compass since I started playing at release.

Since it is knowledge based and craftable,if you do not want it, don’t use it.

Your opinion is noted and wrong.

Different dev teams are working on different projects.

It’s a standard business practice.

So you need a nap or a Snickers?

Show me on this doll where an option in the game hurt you.

:grimacing: Oh this will not end well.

This is rather an opinion thing because we will never know the truth but…

In most all games that have a pass system it is there to get and keep butts in seats. I’m sure there was an anticipated time spent in game to accomplish tasks, but some one didn’t take in to account the cheese factor, or didn’t expect to be so wide spread.

Why do you think most season passes somehow pay for themselves?
Or this has been my experience with them.

Not really an issue if the pass rewards are equally as cheesy. Conan’s was not. funcom did far too good of a job providing high quality content every pass. As in ludicrously cost ineffective.

And why I have no issue with funcom rereleasing the battle pass content in some way.

Hot damn, link please?

Which yet again shows how utter ignorant of reality you are. Funcom does not have one **** if the task were “repetitive and boring”. They care about whether or not it was generating daily log ins or not over the course of the month. WHICH IT WAS NOT This is factually proven. You can literally find the evidence for this on these very forums yourself.

Yes, they absolutely were. This was the exact reason they revamped the Battle Pass system in the first place. You are lying out of your arse and you bloody well know it!

Again, factually incorrect. They HAVE sold items on the BLB that were on the Battle Pass just reskinned and renamed. It has happened on a number of occasions! So if you are going to attempt to make a claim, then do not make one that is easily disproved. You are once again knowingly lying!

No one claimed that removing the Battle Pass was prioritizing what “the community really wanted”. :woman_facepalming: You are knowingly being deceptive in your wording here in an attempt to obfuscate what was actually said, and you are failing miserably. Funcom prioritized it because the system DID NOT WORK AND IT WAS A WASTE OF RESOURCES IN BOTH TIME AND MONEY. This was already pointed out earlier in case you could not comprehend that before. So obviously it was a business decision, THEY ARE A BUSINESS AFTER ALL.

Actually, in case you hadn’t figured out how games like Conan Exiles make money. The more that players actually log into a game and play a game the more likely they are to spend money in said games store. So having a Battle Pass system that actually works as intended and generates daily log ins consistently over the course of the month in which it is active will in fact lead to more sales in their in game store because you will not have people just logging in every 7 or so days to refresh their timers and then logging right the F back out without actually doing anything. So once again you have proven that your “concepts” are the complete antithesis of how reality works.

The only thing you have taught anyone is how utterly out of touch with reality you are. It is truly amazing that you are capable of tying your own shoes in the morning. You are absolutely one of the most ignorant people around, and yet you cry EDUCATE YOURSELF while showing a complete and utter lack of comprehension of anything you are talking about at any point in time. You should be embarrassed to even walk out of your front door.

Maybe you should boycott the game.

It’s a placeholder for a compass. That might be used for other stated ‘injection’ bugs. I’d argue with cost, but that isn’t apparent yet. I can tell some are eager to upgrade it.

People have indeed requested that, I remember discussions where people specifically stated they would not want a minimap, only a compass. I’ve also seen the request several times specifying that they would like it to be an item - though most wanted it to be something you have to equip / use - so that it’s less immersion breaking etc.

In any case, there’s no need to get overly upset about a compass… Do I think it was needed after 7 years?.. not really, so it’s an odd choice to go after, but it’s also not a big deal and if you don’t want it, simply don’t craft a compass or don’t carry one around. You’d have to be really reaching to bring this up as a point of complaint… especially given the direction change they made in January regarding the… umm… life expectancy of the game.

Deacons misinterpretation was actually correct. This is merely bad wording in the article… stamina regeneration is being made slower, you can sort of figure out this was bad wording by the context since they tell you they were reset to the values before they made it near-instant. Also, the exhaustion effect is back as well.

Bottom line… not much to argue about here.

That was my interpretation of their wording too (or at least my hope for what they meant - as you say it was not fantastically well written - but then many of the server setting variables have historically suffered from the same sort of lack of clarity about what the actual effect will be, so this is pretty much par for the course).

This I was not aware of, but sounds good to me - I missed that element of punishment for not managing stamina with a bit of care. Returning to what sounds like an older balance - enough stamina to perform combos, slower regen and an exhaustion state sounds like improvements all round.

They are listening to the micro-minority (less than 20 weak players that the community managers chat with) which they refer to as the “community”. A simple search of this forum and social media will show what people have been asking for. Funcom ignores most of the feedback and a search can also show that. Funcom ignores more feedback than they respond to.

I totally agree with the OP first post. A compass and all that BS we talk now is priority number 100000001.
The first on the list should be fully repaired and functional inventory sorting and management when interacting with storage containers.

I agree the compass is (very) low priority - I certainly have no intent to use it. And fixes for the inventory sorting (persistent custom sorting) and the reltated problems would be much higher on my list as well.

That said, the compass is an incredibly simple bit of programming that probably took very little time to implement. Plus all the evidence suggests that it was work that had already been done for the next chapter before the decision was taken to focus on fixes instead. So releasing it makes sense. We just need to wait and see what the ‘major fixes’ are that they have also promised will be in the update.

Someone’s chip Is showing.

I see what you are showing. I also see what a simple search on the forum or across social media shows, which is what I pointed out. It’s what reality shows. Also what is shown on this forum is that most of the posts are “chip on the shoulder posts”. That’s reality. So, your point and statement is moot.

False. So false.

It’s amusing when someone starts a thread by having a tantrum when they’re so obviously, painfully wrong.

Yes, exactly.

That’s true, people have also asked for a minimap.

Two things are both true, it’s not one or the other, lots of people have asked for a compass.

it does not mattter to me that they added a compass, hard to justify ranting about it either, but, i would agree that the compass is pointless, IF, the sun and moon were reliable for determining your position and relative direction. However, since the Sun rises in the southwest, and sets to the west just slightly due northwest in the ‘Exile Lands’, (at least relative to the map grid and the direction you face at dusc and dawn) a compass might actually come in handy sort of. ( since the sun basically rises and sets in the west lol) Which makes me wonder, ~why didn’t they just fix the suns
travel?~ Or, is the world of Conan supposed to be traveling in some incredibly strange orbital path and have a wonky planetary rotation? I missed it in the lore if so.

If Funcom does decide to add a mini-map, I hope they include the option to turn it off in the settings. I don’t mind added features, but as @DeaconElie pointed out, there’s no ‘one size fits all’ for features whether that’s a compass or mini-map or whatever else.
