After all the hype, the " Ruins of al-Merayah" is a huge disappointment. Trebuchet’s were a waste of time. Just walk up to a wall/door/gate, press and hold E then ‘dismantle’ the building piece. In you go. Just keep running and mow down those in your path.
This ‘al-Merayah wall dismantle’ ability was in the Beta Test version. Is this the way it is supposed to be I wonder.
After breaking in and killing the Boss’s two or three times, It gets very boring very quickly.
The game wasn’t broken in AoW.2 so why break it AoW.3. AoW.2 just needed bug fixes.
The map is huge with acres of unused territory. Why not add more Biome’s. It worked on Isle of Siptah.
To reiterate other players comments: why knowingly release a broken patch (the Camels as a prime example, fighting another), which can’t be fixed for at least 4 weeks. The Beta version needs to be released sooner so ‘All’ the bugs can be fixed before the official launch.
I have played for 10,700 hrs but I’m fast running out of enthusiasm to play any more. It’s a fantastic game, so Funcom really need to get there act together and make sure this never happens again.
Will there be an AoW chapter 4. If so, PLEASE, DO NOT RELEASE IT UNLESS IT IS 100% PLAYABLE. If it is not playable, “DO NOT RELEASE IT”.
Funcom executives may have egg on their faces over this fiasco, but that doesn’t help the players.
When a retailer runs out of hot water bottles in the middle of Winter, excuses and apologies don’t keep your feet warm.
Yep, my boo boo. I was in Admin mode at the time. Still, the rewards for killing the Bosses was pitiful. Some armor and I think about 10K of Gold coins. The gold you could get from just mining Obsidian around the volcano, without all the hassle. Some really decent (repairable) weapons would have been nice. I haven’t tried bombs in there. I’ll try some next time.
The rewards are rrrreally questionable, I agree. Farming treasure is a faster and less stressful way of acquiring gold coins, depening on where your base is. The Summong Place has a treasure chest in 9 out of 10 cases (or maybe 10 out of 10 and I don’t know one of the spawn points), which can be exchanged for 5000 coins. Just put a treasurer up just in front of the Summoning Place and collect 5000 coins each time you pass. It’s monopoly money.
Bombing, glitching or murdering through a whole castle with instant respawn is not worth it for the money alone.
The real kicker is the boss’ XP reward, which can be used to level thralls.
However, there’s this other dungeon which is much easier that also gives a suspiciously high XP reward. No need for the castle just for tthat…
Irrespective of how you achieve the goal, the reward is pathetic.
All the hype for what . . .
If solely blood and guts is your forte then so be it, but not for me.
Yep the “the boss’ XP reward” I wasn’t aware of at the time. I have the ‘Thralls 100 level’ installed. I did notice at the time my ‘Berserker’ jumped from 28 to 100.
After all the hype, one would think that there would be a ‘Grand Reward’. Not just coin.
Haven’t try it yet so i cannot place an opinion. What i can only say about this feature so far is, what a beautiful castle and congratulations for making it with building pieces that already exist in the game for players to build the same way too. But not in official servers .
Now, about the reward thing.
For me reward is first that i managed to “solve a puzzle” and then the loot.
Don’t forget that the whole game is like this, you may go to the wine cellar, lost a couple of thralls and gain nothing from Thag . But even if you get something, it’s still role play not absolutely necessary.
Same goes to almost everything in this game. So complaining about rewards it’s almost a clise in here, no offense but i am sick and tired of it.
So my fellow exile…
Welcome , it’s really nice to have you here, really!
Thank you for your feedback, agree or not, it’s a respectful opinion. There for you got my like .
Ps. I believe you already met my alter ego in here (), we both exist to provide balance .
Using the Admin mode changes nothing. You fight your way to the top and what do you get. Sweet ■■■■■ Adams. The game resets the castle so you can do it all over again - for SFA.
After all the hype from Funcom you would expect to be able to stand on the cliffs above the Ruins of al-Merayah, beating your chest, as a triumphant champion. Instead what do you get. A chance to do it all over again for fa.
The mounds are a far greater challenge, with superior rewards. Dalinsia Snowhunter is a prime example. If you can get her as your protector, you are nigh on invincible.
A lot of negative reviews and poor development. Rewards have continuously been dumbed down and quality of development has deteriorated big time. Add in the fact they intentionally released known broken content with no plans to fix it for a month does a lot of damage to Funcom.
Have you tried knocking out the boss for a change? He seems to be knockable. He has a crazy ranged multiplier, such a team of archers will be invincible.
Don’t expect anything of quality to come from the CE team at this point. They’re milking the franchise for money just long enough to get their Dune game pushed out the door, then Conan’s gonna get abandoned like every other game they’ve made in the past.
Anarchy Online? Secret World? Age of Conan? All abandoned for the next big thing. Exiles is next on the list.
