Aquiring landmarks on the map

Mostly I’ve noticed this in the Exiled Lands,

But arriving to a point of interest in game sometimes yields the landmark “reward” easily and sometimes I have to run around in the same spot until I hit that sweet spot to activate getting the landmark placed on my map. The cave into the volcano comes to mind (near the ice dragon)

This has been a curious thing since I started playing over 5k hours ago and it still exists.

Now players are being banned for building in Deserters gutter and the crevice because some players say they can’t get the point of interest for their map.

I’m going to call the devs out on this one.

Before you ban players for blocking points of interest that have been allowed to build in for years, please fix the sketchy aquisition system.

Now (and I think its just a tactic to cause grief) players are getting banned for this.
Stop helping players get other players banned for sketchy reasons please.

Please!

I know you guys are busy getting Dune ready but don’t drop Conan off to the wayside.

:man_facepalming:

A POI is still a POI whether it’s icon pops up on the map, or even if it has one.
There are practically hundreds of POIs with no map icon.

Not saying getting the game to recognize a trigger to pop the icon on the map hasn’t been a joke; till it became a journey step. But comparing this to some one building in a zone that violates the TOS is absurd.

Building in those areas has been for YEARS so banning heavily now is absurd.

Deserters gutter is a location I have run INTO to get the POI and I’ve gotten it running up to the outside of the structure.

This needs to be resolved before any more bans happen.

Adapt.

Fix the sketchy POI system.

By all means, the POI discovery should be fixed so it’s reliable. That I completely agree with.

What perplexes me is the fact that Funcom has made it clear that these POI should not be blocked. However, a lot of new players are not aware of this and still build in these POI (crevice and gutter) and they are reported and hit with an instant wipe and ban. Should Funcom make these areas impossible to build in? What is the point of building a defend-able base in crevice or gutter since all it takes is one report and everything you’ve worked for is doomed.

These have always been popular areas to go to war over.

To allow building there and then punish someone is akin to entrapment. Not to get “leagalese” but the point I think is the POI system needs to be fixed and bans starting over this are absurd.

We can’t punish the players twice and destroy the game by making these areas off limits to building.

They are a feature location. Prime base real estate.

There’s a big ass pop-up that appears for them when they first login. If they click through it and get suspended, that’s their initial warning and they are likely to go read the rules. I’d assume the system there is working. The bonus for reading that pop up is not getting a suspension.

I’m sure any player who plays Conan can read a set of rules and follow them. The problem I have with this are how vague the rules are. We don’t want you to build in this area because it’s a POI. Seems easy enough to follow yet we are seeing bases that accidentally cover anything related to the game and it’s an instant wipe. For example, I have seen bases getting wiped when they have covered a book, a thrall spawn, a boss spawn, or even a chest.

Finally something I can agree with you on.

Show me were it says not to built in the crevice or the deserter gutter. It says not to block boss spawns or loot ch… oh never mind, that’s ok. I shows examples of how not to build and people think the are a good example to follow. Most of it is monkey see monkey do. This build that had foundations up a and down the beach surrounding it is gone now, but not before some one started copying them.

Or some one that feels rules simply don’t apply to them because they are so giving and helpful, and provides daily tours of his monolithic, TOS violating. POI encompassing, PC munching, main build.

Rules mean nothing if they are so open to interpretation a build can be and isn’t a violation at the same time. Or not evenly enforced across all servers. Funcom may be swamped, but eventually they will get around to your server.

You don’t even play the game anymore and are not asking from a point of sincerity. Your request for any sort of information is thus denied.

Figure it out on your own.

Was on for 3 hours this AM, what I didn’t see made me very happy.
