I am planning to buy a handheld console for play Age of Conan.
I also plan to play an assassin but i do not know if is very solo pve friendly.

I didn’t, but that might have been just as it didn’t fit my play style.
I’ve never been much for the whole ‘go stealth and sneak up behind the target’ play. I found playing my 'sin as a crossbow man worked better for me.
i’m not sure it will be comfortable to play without a mouse and keyboard.
AoC is really a terrible experience without a mouse and keyboard. I can in theory play it on my phone, or my tablet, but it’s just horrible controls wise, even for simple solo quests.
You could say use one stick to move, and then the other stick would be a virtual mouse to click your skills. That’s the “best” I can imagine if you can set it up.
