Banned with no explaination

Dear Funcom Support,

I am writing to formally request clarification regarding the ban placed on my Conan Exiles account. Since the ban occurred, I have not received any explanation identifying the nature of the alleged offense, the specific rule I am accused of violating, or whether the restriction is temporary or permanent.

I have played Conan Exiles loyally for approximately eight years and, during that time, I have never received a warning, suspension, or prior disciplinary action. I have never knowingly used cheats, exploits, unauthorized software, or engaged in behavior intended to violate Funcom’s rules or negatively affect other players.

I fully understand and support the need to enforce the Terms of Conduct and protect the integrity of the game. However, I respectfully believe that a player should be informed of the general reason for an account-wide ban and be given a fair opportunity to understand and appeal the decision.

Please provide the following information:

The nature and category of the alleged offense.

The date or approximate timeframe in which the violation reportedly occurred.

Whether the ban is temporary or permanent.

Any relevant server, character, clan, or account information connected to the enforcement action.

The appropriate process for submitting a formal appeal or requesting a manual review.

I am not asking for confidential information regarding another player or Funcom’s internal moderation procedures. I am simply requesting enough information to understand why access to a game I have supported and played for eight years was removed without any prior warning or explanation.

I respectfully ask that my case be reviewed by a member of the enforcement or moderation team and that I receive a clear response regarding the reason for the ban. If the restriction was issued in error, I ask that access to my account be restored. If Funcom believes a violation occurred, I ask that the specific category of misconduct be identified so I can properly address the allegation.

Thank you for taking the time to review my request. I look forward to receiving a meaningful response and a fair review of my account.

I can’t answer much of this (if any) - but I can suggest that it might be appropriate to try sending to Helpshift and selecting ‘Ban Appeal’ from the dropdown menu. (I suspect you would need to send a reduced version of this full message - at least for bug reports there seems to be a character limit, so I imagine it might be the same for Ban Appeals.) I don’t know if this would help, but maybe it could get you some more information.

(Side note - I thought from your previous posts that you were only encountering this ‘ban’ on one official server and could still access others, or am I misremembering? That shouldn’t be possible with a ban, whether temporary or permanent, which leads back to the idea it is probably a bug. This, of course, solves nothing either way, but might at least explain why you have been unable to ascertain any reason for a potential ban.)

I came here because not only myself but 9 clanmates also submitted in my name. No response from anyone at influx or funcom. I even track down influx business in Canada and message their support. It was just one server the irony is I submitted a ticket saying just that the next day I couldnt access any servers.

Huh. Well that’s just even stranger. So now it is acting like a proper ban, even though it wasn’t before.

If you’ve already tried Helpshift (and direct to Inflexion), then I guess here’s the only other reasonable place to try. - I have seen previous claims that Helpshift may be around a month behind on tickets (whether or not that is correct, I have no idea), so that may mean there is a chance you might still eventually get an answer there. I hope something successful comes of this - at the very least you should have a right to know why you might have been banned.

(Also the fact that your clanmates submitted tickets on your behalf suggests none of them are banned, which similarly makes no sense, as the whole ‘joint and severally liable’ concept usually gets applied - ie you get banned for clanmates’ actions as well as your own. I take it you’ve never been a member of a different clan at any point?)

You should know best what you have done wrong.

That would require knowing what I supposedly did—an advantage apparently shared by everyone except the person who was banned. Confidence is not evidence, and smugness is not an explanation.

Although I doubt you would get a truthful answer from at least one of your clanmates..

I would suggest having a discussion with everyone of them concerning the ban and if possible find out who is responsible for what happened to your entire clan.

That won’t change the end verdict, but at least you’ll know where to place your trust from now on.

Were you by any chance using the mace exploit to one tap players and drill through bases with it? I know several players that got the ban hammer dropped on them for doing that and the time frame of their bans happening and yours and is roughly the same time.

Even if they said what you were banned for, would it change the old…

You got that right @biggcane55 . Like i said the other day, the only reason i still didn’t get a ban on official servers, is luck, no other reason.

Ps. @Visago i am sorry for your ban mate, create an alt i guess if you wish to continue playing on official servers. However i wish you luck to your appeal request :sign_of_the_horns: .

When you get banned the reason is explained in the pop-up when you try to login. eg.: landclaim abuse, exploit, etc.

The irony is movies “spoiler

Andy was innocent all along. So it fits because one might actually be innocent, but so many guilty people say it, it gets washed in as a lie.

Was banned once some 5 years ago over a silly clan collapse, being one member drunk while gaming, all turned to custard, end result our clan got a ban, 2 weeks is 1st teer of ban scale in which all clan members of your clan are locked out of all Funcom games and servers, all buildings and items removed, thralls the 15th day go bye bye, depending on decay timers i thinking current timer at 480 may differ… Best i know, if one reads the rules fully from memory is like 3 tears to banishments depending on what rules/infringements were broken…

My 10cents offered

Getting banned with no other information, one could only assume it’s unfair and abusive. Customers deserve more respect than this.

no it was not. All I got was Access denied. Also the ban was taken away after finally talking to funcom

This is one of the heavy-handed rules I dislike about the official servers. Because it encourages you to solo play or only form a clan with real life friends.

Make friends in-game or through Steam? Nope! Don’t you even think about forming a clan together.

One person does something against the rules… Nobody knows who did it, or what they did, and the whole clan gets banned?

No thanks. It’s too much like dealing with a power crazed Reddit mod.
