Bans and suspensions. What have you experienced? Is there a solution?

I started playing Conan Exiles again on my PS5. I purchased the new DLC’s, a lot has changed.
I found a clear spot to build with no one else around on a conflict server. I work so the pvp time is generally when I can play. I walled what I thought was a small area for my future buildings to protect me as I build, I am solo. Another clan moved in right next door and built a similar sized base, not long after another did the same stupidly right next door making three decent sized bases close together. I didn’t realise the performance issues Conan Exiles has currently till now. I decided to move, building a smaller compact base away from others closer to edge of the map. Before I got a chance to demo the old base (which was always my intention), I guess admin removed it which I was semi OK with. The next day I get Access denied.
The performance issues I think were unintentional. Three clans caused it building too close to each other. I have had no communication with these clans, nor do I know them.
Zendesk has since read this report, as the “Create a password for Funcom…" report was merged and tagged as Solved. However, the main report is still open and has been ignored with zero response.

After reading forums here and elsewhere online it appears that this is common. Funcom instead of fixing the widespread issues in game, they just ban players, hiding behind subjective codes of conduct as an excuse for a broken game.
Has anyone else had similar experiences?
Please share.
Maybe a solution can discussed.

The main report that you opened no more than 22 hours ago?

I’m asking, because you already created one thread asking whether you were banned and were advised to open a Zendesk ticket. That was 22 hours ago.

This suggests that your ticket is 22 hours old or less. Since you say you’ve been reading the forums, you know that any ticket is extremely unlikely to be handled in such a short time. You probably also know that making threads about your own ban and disguising them as a discussion of a solution for a more general problem is not likely to get you unbanned…

My intention of this thread is to have a constructive discussion amongst the Conan community. This is to collaborate people’s experiences to help reach a solution.
A simple communication on the status of the ticket after reading it. Is not much to ask. Communication is a two way street.

Yes, evidently your intention is to have a constructive discussion, which is why you framed the situation so constructively:

You’re off to a really good start with that constructive discussion.

What kind of solution did you have in mind?

Or let’s stop beating around the bush: are you really looking for a “solution” to some problem, or are you here to complain about your suspension?

Call a spade a spade.

Again, you pretend that you’ve been reading the forums about this. If you actually did read up on this, you would know that their ticket volume is high and that their typical response times are almost never under 24h.

Hell, if you bothered to read the rules you called subjective, you would’ve noticed that the first suspension is almost always temporary – notable exceptions being cheating and hacking – and that temporary suspensions cannot be appealed via Zendesk.

Communication might be a two way street, but so is due diligence.

At any rate, your claims of good intentions and constructive discussion would have been more credible if you had picked an actual problem that could be discussed, such as the policy of not letting the temporary suspensions be appealed. Now that’s something worth discussing, along with many other concrete problems with their moderation practices.

But hey, why pick a concrete problem to discuss rationally when you can throw a fit that they didn’t get back to you immediately and try to disguise it as a constructive discussion?

That’s not a… thing… and this is not something the players can “solve” in any way…

Official servers (besides being extremely poor quality) are essentially “free” and a “my house, my rules” scenario applies when it comes to Funcom handling them.

Translation… if you got banned you can make all the threads you want, it’s all up to Zendesk… they either unban you, or they don’t :man_shrugging: and discussing anything related to admin action on the forums will get those threads locked. - as is going to be the fate of this thread, as soon as a moderator or a member of staff spots it. They will suggest you contact Zendesk

Can we please not make things personal, and stay on topic.
Share experiences and offer ideas; including dealing with the broken laggy game which is the core issue.
One solution maybe to train the people swinging the ban hammers to be more empathetic to the customers considering we have paid for what is essentially a flawed product

A lot of countries have laws such as “consumer guarantees acts”, which is to help protect customers and create fair trading environment. My product my rules doesn’t always apply.

Yea, except for the fact that what you bought was a license to use the software (the game) regardless of any servers.

The servers are provided by Funcom for free, they have a weird set of rules that go with it, the main goal of which is to ensure as many players fit on a server as possible.

Getting banned from official servers does not revoke your game license in any way, Funcom has repeatedly stated that they don’t think the people who get banned are in any way “bad”, they simply have a playstyle that doesn’t align with the scope of their free servers…
In any case, you must know that you’re not the first to strike up such a topic :man_shrugging: So far 100% of them got locked and lead nowhere, except back to Zendesk.

In any case, apologies if we seem a bit “desensitized” to these types of topics… we’re not trying to be mean, it’s just that this has happened sooooo many times and we’re merely trying to help by telling you what you can expect so you waste less time on it :man_shrugging:

Again please get back to the topic.
Please stop directing the discussion away from the topic.
I may not of been clear in the beginning, so I clarified my intention on the topic.

“No worries”. It is expected in a controversial topic like this.

Yes that’s an idea.
Maybe a simple in game message giving players 48hours to correct the problem themselves. At the very least until the game is fixed.
