Best PvE Build Locations for Settlements (not just bases, but entire villages)?

I was wondering if anyone was ambitious enough to build an entire settlement. Sure there are lots of options for hidden PvP bases, massive pillar bases, and even very picturesque RP cabins, castles, and manors… but I want to build an entire village. So given the large size of the building project I have in mind, can anyone recommend a good location (any map). Preferably near water (fishing) and lots of resources.

If we are speaking of building on official servers, not single player or private, then yes, several players have attempted to build villages. However, they are becoming a no-no under the revised building TOS

" Walls and Villages
This can be considered an extreme version of decorative land claim. The issue here is not the size of the base, but the function of the individual buildings. It is in the same spirit of a web of foundations, but players take the time to make the structures appear from the outside to be a functional part of their base. Player buildings that heavily focus on roleplaying can often fall under this category.

Walls are ok when they do not extend too far beyond the buildings they protect. But much like the web of foundations example, a wall of sufficient size can still accomplish the same thing. A wall for defense is a reasonable addition to your base, but using them to mark off a large area around your base should be avoided."

Thanks for the detail explanation about land claims and walled villages. However, my question is about locations rather than their construction. Did you have a location in mind where it would be good to set up a village?

Are you playing on official, private, or single-player?- this is relevant before I can give you locations.

Edit: Also, which map do you want to build on, IoS or EL?

2nd Edit: nevermind, I just saw in your Op you said anymap. Give me a few minutes to jump into single-player and take screenshots of good spots with Grid locations.

They were asking if you’re building on an official server, because a city will get you banned. You’ll have to keep that build on a private or single player.

Single Player map. I have the freedom to do whatever I want.

Hey, Bodin, here’s some locations on Exiled Map. Isle of Siptah coming in a few minutes.

Gid 7/C. I know you want water spots, but this one is huge and flat, easy to build anything. Resources are decent.

This one has an Oasis feature, with flat areas. Grid 8/E.

Near the Northern Aquaduct, Grid 9/F/G.

My personal favorite spot. This has the potential to have a village sprawl all along the river, with more than one waterfall feature. Grid 10/D.

Let it go, let it gooooo! Frozen spot for ice village. Grid 11/F.

Mounds of the Dead location, clear out a few trees and you’ve got level-ish ground with swallow water and a neighbor with a funny accent. Grid 11/B.

There are so many spots in IoS, it’s hard to capture them all, but here are a few. Any seaside/beach on IoS can make a good fishing village.

Ignore my test build, this has a large flat area with large beachfront. Grid 12/ I

Ignore my test build again, this one is just down the beach from the 1st location, grid 12/H. again, large flattish area with lots of beach and ocean.

This one is interesting because of the varied height of the land, you can build on the beach, water, and up on the ledges. Grid 7/K.

This is all flat and shallow, you can be pretty creative here. Grid 6/ I

@Bodin do you have a building style in mind for your village? For example, are you going with Aquilonian or a Nordheimer/Viking type build?

Mmm if we’re talking PC, why stop at Exiled Lands and Siptah?

Not yet. I’m guessing the location will determine the style.

You have another map suggestion in mind?

It is as this river goes by, starting lower from the little lake with the ghost and the bear spawns, going up to the location I told you under the towers.
This is my favorite location for village building, it has everything, even water falls. I build mainly there with tier 2 construction pieces, they seem more rustic and warm. Now with Nemedian DLC, you have more pieces to play with.
Please send an outcome of your job @Bodin, I would really appreciate it, thank you.

One of my favorite spots is north of Sepermeru’s northern entrance, where I built my town:

Massive stone field (with some coal rocks sprinkled in between) to the west, a decent amount of trees to the east and southeast, some iron rocks just east. A short run to Shattered Springs for sulphur, and Sepermeru with all its splendor right next door. Obelisk pretty close, so you can teleport back easily.

There’s some room to expand towards the west, and if you like stairs or elevators, there’s a great big plateau to the north (where my character is crouching in the screenshot) for building your royal palace or whatever strikes your fancy.

The one weakness of this spot is its lack of a natural water source. There’s a pond just east that I use for fish traps, but there are some annoyingly aggressive antelopes and tortoises between my place and the water source. The reason I didn’t expand my base that far was because I wanted to use the natural barriers to limit avenues of Purge attacks. Of course, if you build e.g. a fisherman’s hut on the shore to block animal spawns, you should be fine. Just take care so as not to block the iron spawns on the northern cliffside.

Mind you, I heard Funcom expanded the no-build zone north of Sepermeru, so all my suggestions here may no longer be valid. I haven’t gone running with a foundation block around there for a long time, but last I checked, my town (pop. 110 people, two camels and a horse) was still there.
