Game mode: Online official
Type of issue: Bug
Server type: PvP
UPDATE: This is still an issue for some block types (Insulated, Black Ice) following the Live patch on 3/2. Please see the new evidence added below.
When building, I am unable to place triangular shaped foundation blocks on top of fully supported triangular shaped ceiling tiles.
I am able to place regular foundation blocks on top of fully supported square ceiling tiles without any issue. The trouble seems to be when trying to work with triangular wedge foundation blocks and triangle ceiling tiles.
Please see the attached screenshot as well as the attached video clip supporting my efforts trying to demonstrate this bug:
This is frustrating as I am starting a new project, and need to be able to support foundations above walls and ceiling tiles so that I can place anti-climb fence against the face of the triangular foundation blocks way up high. With this bug in it’s present state on Live, I will not be able to accomplish my building plans. At least not with triangular wedge pieces.
I suppose that I could adjust the project, and switch to all squares. However, this will be very painful to do since the terrain I am working with has rounded areas, and is not really conducive for squares.
Please review this post, and if appropriate, please also add this to the Trello board.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
- Begin building. Place a triangular foundation block on the ground.
- Attach a wall to the triangular foundation block.
- Attach a triangular ceiling tile to the top of the wall.
- Attempt to place a triangular foundation block on top of the triangular ceiling tile – no matter your angle, it will not allow you to place the triangular foundation block on top.
NOTE: If you repeat these reproduction steps with regular, square foundation blocks and square ceiling tiles, you will be successful.
ALSO: Please see the screenshot and the accompanying video showing the attempt to build with triangular foundation blocks on top of triangular ceiling tiles.
