I’m curious which t3 build works best in the snow biome? Is it still Black Ice? I’ve read a few places that there’s been changes, and that most are ‘temperature neutral’ now(including DLC’s), or that people experience ‘cold zones’/60-80% shelter in their building despite using insulated materials.

You heard correctly.
It no longer matters what t3 you choose. All are good anywhere.
Before the change it was Black Ice or Khitan for cold areas.
Now you can do whatever you wish.

What about the cold spots/zones when using doorframes/window frames etc?
It still makes no difference in the material.
A Black Ice door frame is the same as any other T3 door frame now.

Like mixing roof pieces also the gold onions make nice contrast.
