Building Issue: Dedicated server, Adding support to existing ceilings

Game mode: Online official & Online private
Type of issue: Bug

On dedicated servers, adding support to existing ceilings by connecting a pillar or wall beneath them does not properly update stability for the client. If you have a Ceiling with only 20 stability and add support under it, you cannot connect other ceiling pieces to it until you dismantle something nearby or leave the area and return, which updates the stability properly. Note that repair hammers seem to query the server and will display the correct amount of stability, even though you can’t extend out from the ceiling.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced.

  1. On a dedicated server, build 6 foundations in a straight line, then place a wall or pillar at one of the extreme ends.
  2. Build ceilings above and across the row of foundations until you can’t any more due to stability.
  3. Place a new pillar or wall to support the very last ceiling you just placed.
  4. Try to extend the ceiling further. You cannot. Frown in remorse for your bridge building ambitions. :stuck_out_tongue:
