Is there a way to go from the first picture to the second without destroying the top foundation? I want to make a tunnel trough the foundations of my base but i got things placed on the top foundations in my base that i cant remove and put back.
As far as I know, I don’t think it is possible.
The problem is that you cannot replace a foundation with a ceiling tile, and we do not have any hollow foundations(yet), so to my best knowledge you will have to delete foundations down to where you want the tunnel to go and place ceiling tiles and then foundations on top of those if needed
I think this can be accomplished with the less building placement restriction mod, which rules out officials and consoles. With LBPR, I was able to slip ceiling tiles between foundations to prevent collapse when a lower foundation is deleted.
When Tested on vanilla beta client, this was blocked so adding support that way failed. With a test stack (3x3x3) of foundations, deleting one from middle killed the foundation above it.
Shameful that foundations do not draw support from foundations to either side… I thought they did at some point in the past.
Anyway, looks like if you wish to make renovations, it will involve more drastic reconstruction, or if mods are an option, use LBPR to unlock more building freedom.
may be able to with the dungeon set, there is a doorway foundation piece if i remem correctly, it may work
Hmm that might be a great solution. isn’t that a ‘foundation’ sized block with a passage? I don’t own that set so don’t knots the particulars of that.
