Can anyone help a total n00b out with adivce on DLC purchases.

Looking to buy at the moment. I did play Conan WAYYY back when (when it was a pretty standard MMO during the Beta and early days after release). But things look different now, as it seems to be a survival/crafting/settlement builder. So when it comes to the DLC the vast majority seem to be cosmetic (apart from the recent “Isle of Siptah” DLC release). So i’m looking at that as a DLC purchase. But when it comes to gaming I’m an almost obsessive “completionist” (I seem to constantly restart games because I missed something earlier), However buying ALL the DLC is rather expensive (I DID say "almost obsessive “completionist” ). But is there any DLC you might feel is worth the addition. I’m a big “lore” fan, and I read the books back in my youth (along with the movies of course). So is there any one or two recommendations for the cosmetic DLC that help to evoke the earlier days of Conan’s life. I can’t go much beyond him becoming king, because that would mean buying ALL the DLCs (again). Any help provided would be muchly appreciated

Are you talking about Age of Conan? Conan exiles and Age of Conan are two entirely different games. Age of Conan is a MMORPG and Conan Exiles is a survival game.

Besides The Isle of Siptah all DLCs for Conan Exiles are building pieces and decoration pieces. All of them based on cultures of Hyboria.

I’m not sure what you mean by going beyond him becoming a king with the DLCs as you don’t play Conan in this game, he is pretty much just a side character that happens to be there.

All the lore of the game can be collected in the exiled lands via the base game. The Isle of Siptah has its own lore as well which can only be seen if you have the DLC to go there.

I own all the DLCs and many of the Bazaar items purchased across multiple accounts.

If you are only going to buy one DLC I would purchase the Frontier DLC. the heavy gear is all strength augmented, and the Barbarian esthetic is a strong fallback.

If you are going to purchase two DLCs I would next add the Turanian set, wonderful feel to the set and the heavy set is all Agility augmented, strong playability as well as a nice set.

If you are going to purchase three DLCs and why wouldn’t you because at this point you’ve come this far for mere bang for your buck I would purchase Siptah because of the sheer mass of material the game unlocks, in single player you can create trememdous gear but the shipwreck building set for beginner building plus the Stormglass for tier 3 is a favorite.

Additionally the Kitan and Yamatai building sets continue to flush out the world of Conan with Chinese and Japanese inspired architecture, armour, and the Khitan especially for placeables, those are my top picks, if you play Conan long enough you will purchase all the DLCs they are solid and work online and offline in single player mode. Since the addition of the Bazaar many additional beutiful additions have been added to the game, however in offline mode the items cannot be repaired, and many despite asssurances by developers are buggy.

Hope that helps.

i am currently fighting with game failiing to save, and so I am losing Thralls, my building is reverting to builing from several hours previous and new thralls simply disappear, after 8 years the game still works but even using only DLCs and no mods some months the game works and then comes an update or an event ends such as the recent headhunter update ending and now the game is unplayable again, so you take your chances, great game that never really found a stable build that the developers couldn’t crash with an update.

-Cheers.

all dlc are comestic, except siptah which is a real dlc with a new map and some new mechanism so just buy siptah. once you have it you will be able to travel and play on both map on one server, are the 2 world are linked now.. after if you buy more simply buy a dlc which you like esthetic.

Cheers Damon that was exactly the answers I was looking for. Thanks a lot

Don’t do it. It’s a trap.

It’s very easy - don’t give this crooked company a red cent until they turn the ship around.

Funcom has been destroying the game and abusing players for years. You’re about to join the “OMG I just spent $200 on this game and realized Funcom has no support and hates their players!” club.
