Cant launch the game

I tried to launch the game through steam and the .exe and always get the same error:
The UE4-ConanSandbox Game has crashed and will close
File:E:/B/branch_exiles-live/code/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3
D11RHI/Private/D3D11Util.cpp Line:232

with error 8876017C

I can’t send a screenshot because I’m a new member.
Please I need help, have already tried everything I found on steam forums and here, but nothing seem to work for me. Sorry if I don’t write well, but English is not my first language.

I have sent a bug report everytime it crashed

Thanks in advance

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
1.Try to launch the game
2.Crash
3.
4.

If I try to launch the game with ConanSandbox.exe I get this message:

Error
Couldn’t start:
‘D:\Program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ConanExiles\ConanSandbox\Binaries\Win64\ConanSandbox-Win64-Test.exe’
Create Process() returned 2

Did you run the game as administrator? Did you try starting the game without battleeye.

Yes, I tried both things and did not work :frowning:

Since you cannot even start the game:

I will not pretend I understand the whole problem, but paths in your error prompt would suggest that something is wrong with game trying to use DirectX.

EDIT: also maybe pay attention to this thread:

Also, sometimes you have to completely shut down all steam processes because of a bad launch. Go into your task manager Ctrl+shift+esc and shut down all the steam processes (end task).

You may have already tried this, or simply done a reboot of the PC, which would be about the same thing.

I tried everything you said, but the only remaining thing I can do is disable the onboard graphics. Hope that was the problem.

Thanks for your answers

I tried to disable the onboard graphics, the game launched for the first time. It seems Intel HD graphics 630 was part of the problem. But also seems the game is not using the geforce GTX, because it is really slow in everything. When I disabled the onboard graphics then appeared Microsoft basic screen adapter or something like that. Think it is the next problem to solve.

Thanks for your answers, if you know anything about my new issue would gladly hear you

I had problems with the game until i disabled all windows 10 “gaming features”, gaming optimization, full screen optimization, ecc ecc, had to disable all those “gaming features” then the game started running smoothly.

Going to try that, I hope that will help. I will tell here if the issue is fixed with that

Are you running your game from HDD or SSD?

From HDD, but will try to uninstall and install again in the SSD. Did not use the SSD first because it has only 128GB lol

You do not need to uninstall. If you deciede to go to SSD, simply define a new game folder for steam there and move the game. It should be faster than downloading again.

Also, usually the discreet graphics card will have some sort of control panel to customize the settings. For Nvidia, I’m able to go in there and choose specific programs that are forced to go either with the onboard graphics (like the 630) or use the Nvidia graphics. Frequently I find my Nvidia doesn’t recognize certain games are being better off with Nvidia.

At last the game is running and as fast as it should be, thank you all for your help.
I did all the things you told me and now I can play, in windowed mode runs great at high quality.

Special thanks to Meo, first you told me how to run this great game and after that how to have it running properly

Also did what q9c9p told and it also worked fine.

I will also take a look at what you said in your last message sirvink.

Many thanks to all of you :relaxed:

I am very glad you got things up an running!

But I must stress that bulk of the post that is marked as solution is simply a link to similar thread that was posted just hours before.

In this case @Narelle should take all the credit for searching and composing such an informative post!

Hey, thank you for following up with the successful results! Early in my career, I did tech support for a technology start-up company and at the end of the day, nothing felt better than knowing someone was able to work through a challenging situation and enjoy the product as it was intended.

No go conquer the world and build some awesome bases

Narelle is great o these forums! Don’t too modest though. You were in teh right place at the right time, with the right info to make this come together
