So after spending hours building a T3 stone base, reaching level 55 and gathering 100s of resources, i then joined a clan. A few days later i decided to leave as the only other clan member was inactive and now i am trapped inside my own base as it now belongs to the clan

That’s pretty much how it works. If you leave a clan, or, in the case of some, get kicked out of a clan, the building(s) and supplies remain with the clan.
The only way to counter that is for the clan leader to disband the clan, which reverts the buildings to those members who built them. We’ve done some experiments to verify this.
If you can get the leader to log in and re-invite you, and then disband the clan, you’ll get your building and all the stuff in it. Otherwise, you have to take off your bracelet and spawn in the desert.
If you go that route, load your inventory with the irreplaceable stuff like weapons, armor, etc, and die near a window or door, so you can recover that stuff from your body through it.
If its PVP blow it up… If PVE then kite mobs to destroy
