The moveset is so slow, which works against being an agility weapon for starters. There’s hardly any forward momentum or movement. And the best part of the weapon is the special move which comes out quick.
This weapon needs looking at again. Maybe more moves added to it. Some legendary versions, And more moves
The Problems
Heavy attack is too slow. And i mean really slow.
All of the attacks have bad ending lag.
Special attack is decent, but it use it during combos consumes too much stamina.
It’s basically a poor mans version of the daggers which have a superior moveset
There’s a lack luster selection of them, and they are no legendary ones.
Weapon itself feels unfinished as there is a crouching bug when wielding them which has never been fixed.
Some fixes and notes
I think the biggest one is to change or add to the heavy attack and add a jumping move to help close the distance (Still applies status effect) But it should make it easier to connect and make it come out quick. Increase the speed of the heavy attacks in general or just improve the moveset.
Change the R attack to something else like a sweep dash move to get around.
Make the light attacks simultalous instead of poking one at a time.
Increase the damage per hit on the combos.
Increase the speed of the attacks.
Look no further than the dagger moveset on how you handle two single handed weapons. Why use claws when the daggers moveset is just vastly better.
There is at least 1 legendary claw (black claws) but it is on Siptah. Bestial claws on EL used to be legendary but got downgraded to unique.
Siptah also has other craftable and Boss drop Claws not available on EL.
Agreed. I was more pointing out that it’s a problem this weapon has more variety and accessibility on siptah than EL. Would be nice to get the same on EL too.
As far as performance goes. They’ve kinda sucked for a long time now. Even before age of war they were stamina guzzlers with very low damage and slow attack speed.
Heheheh, Siptah has a magnificent supply of high quality Shortswords as well.
But the Shortsword works well enough for the most part (the knock back on the special combo is annoying).
Even if no advanced versions exist in the Exiled Lands, they can at least be crafted in Starmetal and have several cosmetic options besides.
This one constantly lobbies for them to be included in Obsidian and Black Ice lists.
But claws, not even as developed as Shortswords (despite predating them in the game), suffer from a moveset not exactly utile for player character or thrall. The previous attack pattern was, perhaps, a bit much, but the current one, especially with the upcoming interruption supremacy, is not at all in a good place. It’s just too slow and too open.
Also, pretty please, add Claws to the list of weapons crafted with Dragon Bone (actual sunder inducing Dragon Bone, not like that fake @$$ wall hanger katana from the Bazaar).
