Playing PVE on Official Server #1512.
Seem to be experiencing a change in Game Play Environment
Area of Effect seems to be entire PVE Server.
All food placed within Thrall Pots and Feed boxes decays at a rate never before seen. I fed out over 10,000 pieces of honey into a combination of pots and boxes last evening before logging off - to a game that was supposed to have disabled the pet and thrall feed system… and this evening when logging on, I discover EMPTY pots and boxes again… How is this? Does the game REALLY not feed the thralls/Pets… or is this a bug?
I would ask this simply: "If No benefit or need for Feed/Pot’s exists within in the game, Would the developers clearly and directly state this officially (rather than stating that thralls/pets no longer NEED food)… then… DEACTIVATE the food pots / remove them from the game… instead of leaving them in play as broken devices consuming resources of any player NOT TRUSTING THE REALLY RELIABLE PROGRAMMING that we’ve come to expect … in this case… regarding pets/thralls needing food.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Review contents of Thrall Pot and/or adjacent Feed Box.
2.Confirm that it’s full.
3.Come back next day and check contents.
4.Discover that they are empty or nearly so. WTF?
yes the latest code change has really screwed stuff up. basically you can’t place any food item in a thrall or pet inventory as it instantly consumes the whole stack.
with limited testing so far I’ve found that plant fibre might be safe to stack in a pet or thrall inventory … but only tested in a shaleback, greater hyena, darfari fighter II and a dancer … so I’d advise putting one plant fibre into their inventory.
another item a thrall or pet did not consume was iced tea … haven’t tested with other drinks yet; but they do consumed crafted food items … again limited testing - cooked pork dinner and a blood sausage.
Two things here… Thing One: Regarding Plant Fiber… I, too, can independently confirm that the ONLY animal food left on my Pets -or- Thralls was Animal Fiber… and I found it on all of my Rhinos and Antelopes…
Thing TWO:… my issue is NOT WITH THE PETS/THRALLS CONSUMING immediately… it’s that the Feed Vessels, The Thrall Pots and Feed Boxes are being STRIPPED of contents so quickly… IF - IF - IF … the Quality Programming of our esteemed developers has been set so that the Pets and Thralls NO LONGER require feeding / Take food… then WHY are the boxes/pots being stripped?
IF the programming was solid and food no longer necessary, then it WOULD NOT BE TAKEN from feeders.
IF the programming was solid, requiring a feed rate of ‘0’ to maintain health, and a “check food if not at 100%” timer was set at ‘0’… then perhaps we the players could believe the patch notes.
I’m curious what to believe… it’s very disturbing to have so many hours of developed game resources under an undefined “threat” because of Quality Programming and Correct and Informative Patch Notes as we get regularly on this game …
Thanks for the information, Vattende, but that was an answer to a question that I’ve not posed and quite frankly already have done quite regularly. I understand the issue with feading DLC Fodder to a token pet and creating a modified pet. Please re-read the OP for a clear understanding of the concern. Thanks again for taking the time to answer.
I am finding this change annoying too, we had food for us stored in thrall pots because it lowered decay till I got the ability to be able to make a fridge. On logging into our own server after the up date the thrall pots and the feeders were empty… I’m fine with thralls and pets not needing to eat but I can no longer take a pet with me hunting and store any food on them because it vanishes into the ether. Please fix this so the inventory slots on our pets are usable for all items we want them to carry
This is by far one of the worst changes made to the game. The developers are lazy for releasing a patch without actually checking if the patch works. I agree with mpickett23 that these lazy developers should have removed the feeding completely (get rid of thrall pots and feed boxes) if it no longer matters. NO they decided to come out with a band aid of a patch that inherently makes things worse. People should not have nightmares about the next patch release ruining there game. Time and time again this has been done, and nothing has been done to really fix the bugs and issues that plague this game.
Today is my Birthday, but thankfully instead of buying the season pass for the dlc pack for this game I put my money in a game that actually works. I was thinking about buying the second season pass to the game, but due to this fix I will no longer be playing Conan Exiles. Nor will I backup/speak greatly about this company.
Honestly I wished to enjoy this game, but the devs love to break it. What is the point of paying for a future release of packs if you cant even get the game to work right now? What a waste of money and time.
Oh also PS I play single player now. I used to play online in the past. Although both are extremely broken. I can no longer trust online Conan servers since it only takes a week for the Devs, or the people running the server to break it. Although at this time I cannot even play on single player without running into these issues.
I just have one question for the developers; Can you be competent for a single day please and thank you? I don’t think that you can, and honestly you are responsible for destroying your own game. Although I will say this the time for trial and error ended when you pulled out of Early Access.
Get it together or just stop developing games since you all obviously don’t have any idea of what you are doing.
I linked you a full discussion about the ongoing feeding problem, the fodder problem is just one of the numerous post.
You should read, i try to regroup the different treads, and there are many.
