It’s not impossible, but the book opens with describing him as dead directly. So unless it’s intentionally left misleading, it would seem to be to be more about necromancy than that.
Sounds like they’re introducing the Necromancer class.

I don’t think so. Funcom has become the owner of the complete Conan IP, they bought the rights from Frederik Malmberg. Also, Conan Exiles has been their biggest hit so far, so I don’t think they’ll abandon it in a hurry. I also think that most of the heavy lifting has already been done and that creating more content (DLC’s, maps, etc.) should be relatively easy now.
