Conan Exiles can't connect to funcom servers gamee freeze

Bug Description:

Won’t connect to funcom live services, then game crashes and freezes PC. I have to use Win+Tab to escape the freeze. I can’t even make it to the main menu…

Bug Reproduction:

Uninstalled game, reinstalled. reset PC.

I have a similar crash with a Fatal Error trying to connect to funcom the first time when I start the game. I found a workaround that’s done the trick for the time being until the crash gets fixed, maybe it will work for your problem too.

  1. Disconnect PC from the internet
  2. Start Conan Exiles and go until you get to main menu, the game should give an error about not connecting but it won’t crash.
  3. re-connect to internet
  4. click Play Online to force a fresh login attempt on the main menu (otherwise the DLC content doesn’t work even playing solo, at least for me)
  5. Play normally from there.

It seems there is simply something going wrong on the first automatic login attempt but at least in my case it’s only that first one that will cause a crash.

In the meantime, please try to delete the files: modlist.txt and servermodlist.txt from your game folders. You can find them by following:
Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox

same :frowning: I cannot connect to funcom online services for some reason and I’ve tried everything I found on forums without any luck at all. I will follow this to see if support will reply with an answer that actually works

I found that if I connected to the game with a VPN, it would crash very easily. But I can’t do without a VPN
