Conan Exiles improvements and new ideas

I just made a list with things, that I feel, are missing right now, to make the game a better experience:

  1. More maps.

  2. Add fighter thralls with unique passive abilties at lvl20. Add these thralls to dungeons that we have to complete, or for level 10 purge. With each Age chapter you can create new perks bound to unique new thralls to bring novelty to the game every 3 months.
    Here are some examples of unique perks from simple ones to more complex that can change the way we play the game, adding more fun and novelty to the game:

  • while on follow this thrall increases your stone yield
  • the final blow that would kill you, will kill this thrall instead
  • adds a new ability to your thrall’s wheel of commands:
    teleport to the nearest bed or bedroll
    bufs your damage for 2min by 30%
    instantly cooks a meat soup for you to consume which will increase food and water.
  • generate 5 Human Flesh in the thrall’s inventory for every humanoid enemy you slay
  • this thrall carries the torch to light your path
  • weapon and armor will slowly regenerate durability while this thrall is on follow
  • this thrall has the ability to crack starmetal meteors or kill any target that has
    hitpoints below your health value in one hit(including executing bosses with low hit points value)
  • while on follow, the thrall and you have a shared health value (player+thrall’s health combined) but take and deal 25% more damage.
  • while near death, enter a knocked down state reducing your damage taken by 90%, and gives you control of your thrall for 30 sec. If you manage to kill the enemy that downed you, you will be revived with 50% health
  • while on follow, this thrall will turn the darfari into your allies. Going to their capital city and talking to their leader grants you access to unique recipes, provided you have the reputation which can be earned through a variety of daily offerings, be it weapons or supplies.
  • this thrall can now level up for 10 more levels with an increased chance to improve their agility attribute
  • while swimming, this thrall will generate a random fish every 10 sec

Having a repetitive system that can bring novelty to the game every couple of months and create more fun ways to play is essential for every game.

  1. Add a world difficulty split into 5 levels that we can change once every 24h and create different loot tables for each or a multiplier in reward quantity. This applies to official servers because I don’t want to play singleplayer or private servers, I don’t care. Everyone can play at their own pace. The player with the most damage on an enemy will generate the loot based on the world dificulty of the player.

  2. Remove benefits from crafting benches and add them to crafters as passive at lvl 5 10 15 randomly. Add leveling to crafters whom can earn experience by crafting stuf.

  3. Make thrall passive perks unlockable through a ritual that costs materials from dungeon bosses. Make weapons and armor upgradeable to different quality (green blue purple and yellow). Using materials from bosses in both open world and dungeons as well as common materials earned through harvesting open world resources can permanently improve weapon stats upgrading them through several tiers. I need something to sink my time into. With everything beying handed to us, it feels too boring.

  4. Add a siege mode to each faction capital. (I know The Den has a werewolf, but could be better). Upon arriving at the capital gate/gates (which should be closed), players can initiate a siege by placing 30 explosive jars at the gate. Upon breaking the gate, the siege will start, spawning a number of waves similar to siege of al merayah. Upon successfuly defeating all the waves of enemies, the doors will open for 1 hour, give you access to a 3skull boss with faction themed loot and recipes and a number of 3-5 T4 crafter/fighter thralls which can be found at their specific posts in the city.
    The gate for each Capital will respawn/close in a couple of hours, reshuffling the T4 inside and reviving their 3skull leader/chieftan/boss. While inside the capital, players will gain a buf that increases the damage they take by 1%. This buf will add another stack every 60 sec. While having this buff, 2-skull enemies can spawn near the player. This system can complement the purge, and we should be able to take the fight to the factions in Exiled Lands.

  5. Create a transmutation bench where we can turn excesive materials into a targeted specific material of our own choice with a % chance of success. Upon failure, summon a 3 skull boss. Make the sorcerer a placeable thrall at this bench to increase the success rate. Defeating the boss awards cooking ingredients through harvesting which can be used to cook powerful food items that also have negative attributes such as (+10 strength - 5 expertise).

Quality of life improvements:
-make aloe potions heal in % insted of fixed value. This will be good for thralls.
-decrease the combat animation speed on thralls and remove the delays. A thrall shouldn’t take 2 sec to make an attack, maybe 1sec. know a lot of players will like this.
-increase the speed at which fish traps generate fish
-decrease stamina cost for attacks so we can make at least a full finisher combo with great axes while having default stamina value.
-i said this already, but here goes another try :rofl: ->>>> add eldarium, delving bench and surges on exiled lands. This content blocked behind a pay wall could add more value to the game than both ages combined.
-fix server transfers for the 100th time
-add players markers on the map(at least make it optional). I want other players to find me so we can play together(I wouldn’t mind being jumped by 3-4 players and looted every hour, at least it will add more action to the game).

I have more ideas but maybe some other time. I’ve spent 3 hours just freestyling these bulletpoints based on my Conan Exiles experience lately and would like to see more of this in the future updates if possible.

Last but not least: When can we dress our homeless crafters?

I would add some if you allow :

QoL and design :

  • Reduce the amount of ingredients/composants in game or stop inventing new.
  • Too much weapons/tools too. Stop add new.
  • Construction is already good system, stop expanding it with new texture. It’s the only part of the design that is already finished and with good enough content.
  • We spend too much time taking composants from a workstation to another. Too much time spent clicking for place to place for this, which result in a poor gameplay. Create some auto-transfer items beetween workstations (Furnace to forge for example), or a station of auto-distribution with a special thrall in it.
  • Allow the construction of a kind of arena for auto-training for thrall (expansive/large construction, need a quartermaster thrall, take long time).
  • Archers thralls seems pretty useless (at least in PVE). Poor damage, poor rate of fire, to much time spent in erratic move or passive attitude.
  • The game lacks of life. Ennemy NPC are just trees standing in silence for most of their life. This would have been acceptable in 1996, not today. Is it so hard to create patrols/raiders and NPC infighting ?
  • “Maybe” - Instead of create staggering for attacker, shield should reduce a constant % of damage of hit, and prevent ourselves to bee staggered.

Biomes and maps :

  • Need a new one clearly.
  • Siptah feels unfinished and abandonned. Volcanic and Stygia south islands are very good, other part of the map are too vast and empty of content to be interesting. Vaults are almost all the same and are pretty boring to do. The state of the “story arc” (Siptah tower …) is even worse than in Exile lands.
  • The swamps in Exile lands map seems half empty too. You should add Picts or something else in (remember Xibaluku in AoC), and more things to explore. Birdsman/Jhil caves are also unexploited.

Ennemies :

  • Put some ennemies in water like crocs, sharks, water snakes of piranhas. Sea water should not be drinkable.
  • Allow some ennemies to burrow for surprise attack (Sandworm, some trapspiders, locusts …). Put some ennemies in trees or on top or rock with surprise attack too. Maybe think about putting some flying ennemies coming from top of us (you have already batdemon and Jhil birdmen). All the game ennemies are too predictable and it’s too easy to avoid dangers.
  • Allow some ennemies (and NPC ennemies ?) to have a cloaking ability for surprise attack and “pause” during boss fight. They can also spit some disturb effect venow to allow them to cloack.

Either they activate the gods well or they deactivate them completely but now it’s crazy.
