Conan Exiles to PS4 is broken

@Tusken it was last December she was playing Conan-Exi online so that is 2 dead ps4 s in the office. Might be salvaged don’t know. We have gone through 2 ps1 2ps2 2ps3 3 ps4 since around 1998 maybe more. Good entertainment keeps us out of trouble. Dog knocked over first ps1 stripped a rack and pinion gear probably half cent of plastic. One ps3 still works :muscle:

Invisible animals and pets online also next update should fix. Welcome to the Forum

As far as performance is concerned on the PS5 I personally cannot complain. Even that gargantuan base that I have built so far (extension currently on hold due to some peculiar limit to the block count enforced on any one contiguous agglomeration of blocks) doesn’t bog the game down even though I’m running in Quality mode.

The PS4 for sure is a pain in the butt here as it really gets slow the bigger your base is getting, and at some level you are even risking a hanging game (the risk is becoming higher the more placeables the game has to keep track of). I’m suspecting memory contention here.
Anyone have any idea whether or not the PS4 is allocating swap space to deal with this kind of situation (if yes, how much)?
If not and the game currently doesn’t do so, could this problem be mitigated by extending it with its own swap handler?

I understand some people use a SSD. Have heard good and bad. Have been used internal and external you would have to research. @Thianis

It works fine on the ps4 pro despite some lack of optimization. I just think the older ps4 is too slow while the pro can still handle ce just fine. Communicating that to the crew has gone deaf

Trust me all these bugs aren’t just PlayStation issues.I have this on PC and still get a lot of these same problems across the board including full on crashes. Funcom just doesn’t care anymore about this game and using it only to be a cash grab to push their Dune game on PC users. This clearly shows a company who doesn’t support their player base or any of their customers.

The thing is, I have a 2 TB SSD plugged in (a replacement for the replacement that had decided to permanently go out to lunch well before this had even become an issue) so I’d expect full SATA-3 performance.

The question still remains: Is the PS4 OS actually allocating swap space or not, and if yes, how much, and if not, could this problem be worked around by adding a swap handler to the game itself?

Mine crashes every 2 minutes now after recent hotfix
. Just at least make the game playable for god sake.

I was wondering if I should update Conan from a solid previously installed version I have on my machine right now…

It Didn’t take long to see I do not need to install updates, thanks guys.
I appreciate the heads up.

The game is unplayable on a PS4 Pro, you need to buy an external SSD and put the game onto that, play it on the Ps4 Pro from that. Though one shouldn’t have to buy a £60 SSD for one game. This got rid of practically all the lag/rubberbanding for me. It’s fine on PS5 as that runs off an m.2 SSD stick. And most PC’s nowadays will have an SSD.

I so can relate to you… Dammit, I really can relate to what happened to you, killed by the scrappy System. Not some OP Boss or the difficulty, but performance related issues… You have my Sympathies!

Conan exiles, age of crash. Limite du vol étant donné l’argent investi. J’ai commencé un peu plus d’un an avant Age of sorcery et cela n’arrivait pas. Juste des mauvaises deconnections qui gelaient mais je n’avais aucunes pertes. Une honte.

Lucky. I bought a 2TB External SSD and it didnt change anything.

SSD de 2T externe aussi.

New game, after 4 or 5 hours, crash, freeze, and knowledges lost.
