Would love to be able to play my game and access my world again. Been playing at least since 2019. Many hours & even money dedicated to this world. Sentimental too, because a best friend helped me build, who is no longer around. So any help would be appreciated!!

Hi @Lexakb and welcome (back) to the community! I am sorry that this will not be a very optimistic first reply to your bug report, but it will if nothing else, be an honest one. But at this point in time, Funcom has not acknowledged any bug reports in >2 months now. I personally have run afoul of this issue in the past first-hand, but even when the issue was at its peak, and dozens of reports were made concerning the issue, it was never officially acknowledged and there has been no targetted fix for it. In fact some of my friends may still be affected by it. @LostBrythunian did your Singleplayer game ever remedy itself? I am deeply sorry, but the best I can offer you this day is a link to my thread at the time, which contained a list very basic recommendations.
Hopefully one of them will do the trick, or another members own experiences may provide some ideas. Try them. But PLEASE let us know how you went. Alsohe next update comes out “later this month”, so if all else fails, try to fire it up then. You never know.

Nope.
Eventually shrugged it off, notes that everything is transitory, and nuked the game from orbit, uninstalled and rebooted, all data gone.
Alas thus passed the crossbow stash.

Sorry to hear it ended that way, I would imagine that it was not an uncommon conclusion to the whole debacle either. With many simply throwing their arms up in the air, cutting their losses and walking.
Ps- just a wee bit off topic. I would give anything to get a Crossbow on the game. If they will not rebalance them, then I wish they would just add them back into the Admin Panel.

I am affected as well, my single player/co-op save on EL refuse to load since autumn 2024 I think. I made a bug report (no response), tried what is to try, nothing helps. After every new patch i make one new attempt to load it, to no avail.
I am pretty sure the culprit would be quite easy to debug as you can trace the processing of the database at loading and where it hangs, but someone at Funcom has to have the specific game.db to do so (I don’t know, but I think on Playstation savedata is also encrypted with your account, so will this even be possible?) …
We are lost anyway because Funcom has to be involved.

I will take a look at the thread, thankyou! I’m sorry too it is affecting so many! On one hand it eases something inside to know I’m not alone, on the other hand it is enraging to know that Funcom has all of these, but not the balls to at least acknowledge “we have heard you, still working on a solution”. Anything is better than this silence! Like being ghosted by a toxic partner.
I know some solutions suggested by players is to delete & start over. As already mentioned, there are pieces within my world placed by someone I care very much about & is one of the few connections I have left to him. At this point, that is not a suggestion I can or will take.
Plus it doesn’t help that some of those same people report having the issue repeat even after starting over.
I will try again, even before their patch update. And try some more after it. I’m not giving up, even if it seems Funcom (or Fun Con) has

“Fortunately“ Conan Exiles has no PS5-enhanced version so you can backup your save data on an USB-Drive or -Stick. If you do so you can start fresh and lose nothing, whenever a new patch appears just load the old savegame and give it another try. You just have to be careful which file is which because you can only have one per drive/PS-Account. Which is why I have no working copy anymore, overwritten it with the borked one 
… Lesson learned: Use (at least) two labeled sticks if you care about your data!

And you know what @Lexakb, I think you have captured my own sentiments on this issue perfectly! At first I was relieved I did not have some weird, exotic outlier of a bug that only one person in a thousand has. Then I felt bad for everyone by how common it actually was. Then I became dismayed and resentful that Funcom refused to even acknowledge it. Bugs happen in huge open world games and updates can have unforseen knock on effects. But it is what a company does afterwards that counts. The issue, as you can see, was widespead enough to justify a targetted and dedicated fix, and all that had to be done in the meantime was a post saying that they are investigating the issue, and a fix was in the pipeline. Instead they ignored it and pretended it didn’t and ignored it, all while people with Bazaar issues received support, sometimes within hours of posting.
Mine inexplicably just loaded again one day, a couple of months after the fact. So I got very luxky. I wish I could say for certain what the catalyst for its revival was, but I cannot.
However, I would strongly advise that you try other loading options in between attempts. By that I mean the following:
- Try to load your Exiled Lands map
- Try to load the Isle of Siptah map
- Try to load an Offical (pref) or a Private Server map
This may sound silly, but try this. I got both my online PvE game on friends servers, then my Offline Singleplayer Isle of Siptah (IOS) game to work before my affected Exiled Lands (EL) save finally began working again. So…alternate between attempting to load your online server career, your IOS one, and your EL one. Hopefully it will set things vack in motion. Given your circumstances and rationale, I do not think you should give up either.
Just keep trying every other day. If you do not have an online game you can join, even if just temporarily, my friends have at least two good, very chill servers between them, and I can put it to them and see what they say.
That really sucks. @fx801p are you able to link me to your original bug report? I ask because if it is not yet included in my thread I linked to @Lexakb I will add yours in, as well as hers. I will then fire the thread back up.
Sadly it sounds like this issue is alive and well. This whole situation is execrable; having the textures not load in on ones battle axe is one thing. But being completely and utterly unable to play the game you purchased is unacceptable.
I made a report via the now defunct Zendesk (so I thought, but a quick search through my mails show no automated confirmation mail from Zendesk/Funcom onto this topic, so maybe something went wrong and the report never reached them).
I think the problem is related to this post/tread from 2023, because what i described there seems to be not a rendering issue, it began glitching even if i started the game at an area in the desert where I had no buildings of mine to render, only vanilla game world.
But unfortunately all of this is mere speculation because as user you can’t do anything to help debugging on a Playstation or Xbox. Funcom has to have a defect game.db and i doubt they have someone in-house ran into this problem.
